Can i use this ROM with my stock baseband (1035.21_20110218) or is a baseband upgrade mandatory?

Cheers!

You can use your stock-baseband but 0606 is recommended because of the equivalent RIL.

Then you are not a paying member, only stable prebakes are available for non-paying leeches :)

But kitchen and beta releases is totally worth paying for!

Just installed Fr19RC1, was impressed at the speed it managed to install my 40 apps or so from the market pretty much all at the same time. Apart from that I haven't noticed much difference with Fr18 (yet), but that's mostly a good thing :).

Anyway, the only bug I noticed so far, is when you first start the new ROM and it runs the 'wizard' it always crashes at the end. Really not a problem as it saves everything anyway...

I have this too, and it has done this on every MCR I ever installed on this phone (which is every ROM since Fr7 or so I think). But like you say, it doesn't seem to have any negative effects whatsoever so it's mildly inconvenient at worst.

I think it happens when you don't bake your ROM with LG's Facebook/Twitter.

lol, that is not a bug! You have removed the LG email app and it normally starts at the end of the setup.

Ah, that makes sense. Well I had ignored it up to this point, so I suppose I'll keep doing that :).

One other thing though, my lock screen sliders have crappy images. The part that's in screen when you unlock looks alright, but the part that slides out is an entirely different - lighter - grey, almost so that you cannot read the text on the sliders. It's been that way since Fr18, I believe it was alright in earlier versions. Not urgent as everything works alright, just looks a bit sloppy.

On FR17 I find that any app - not just Juice Defender - that switches wifi on automatically while the screen is off will cause a reboot.

With every MCR version (up to FR17) if I let Llama turn wifi on the phone reboots almost every time. If i let turn wifi off sometimes reboots, sometimes got black screen (with temperature spike), sometimes it works...

I'll try with Fr19 in the future...

I saw that in the changelog which is kind of why I mentioned it.. because I'm running RC1 and they're still like this :).

On another note, were all the previous GPS fixes reverted? 'cause I can't get a fix no matter what I try, while just a few days ago on Fr18b2 I got a fix in under 10s while I was inside and it was raining..

I confirm something was reverted , the GPS fix was also rock solid on 19b3 .

Something "new" also with RC1 , the WIFI wake up is not functionning accurately and it was ok on beta3 also (battery tweaks introduced on beta5 ?)

Thanks for your support Paul

I have R17 running but looks like there is an issue with the bluetooth hands free mode. I have the phone bonded with my car. With the Stock rom it run okay. Phone calls where no problem, music streaming run okay as long as there was no interruption throught the radio, because the stream then run only in pieces.

Now with modaco its hard to do a call. i have to call someone 3 - 4 times till the phone actually calls the person, first call just tells me the "calling" sign and suddenly just ends the call without even doing something. This goes on till its immediately closes the call windows when i press "call". The next try will then work.

The same is with incoming calls. I heard two times i couldnt be reached with a "person is not available" Speech.

just want to tell this for future improvements :)

I am much more happy with this rom, since the phone never hang, and can be used like its supposed to.

thx for the rom !

Which options did you select? The 'bars' look OK to me.

re: GPS, no changes to GPS or WiFi at all in any of the releases.

I only selected the Disable full battery popup and the Gingerbread theme, just reflashed but the bars still look weird.

Hmm, weird that my GPS just stopped working then.. Maybe something's up with my APN's. I just got a fix for about 0.5 seconds by the way, and now it can't even find sattelites anymore. Oh well, I'll just keep playing with it :).

I'll flash with the Gingerbread theme to double check...

I'll upload the stock services.jar which will revert the key 'battery fix'... this should help diagnose if it is adversely affecting battery / wifi.

I just flashed the GB theme and my slider is fine.

You're not using a theme are you? Circular battery or anything?

Will the final Version be available for non-paying users?

Yes. Always is.

That's how it normally works... once it's out of RC the pre-bake is made. The pre-bake is free.
