Guest mankian Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 just tried GPS on FR19RC1 and it got a lock in doors in less then 20 seconds so seems fine here. could it be a baseband issue for the people having issues? i found in FR19B2 it would also get a lock very quickly but wasn't accurate (just about usable for walking) this is with no modifications to settings (the hidden GPS options left alone/default) - which is perhaps another thing people with GPS issues can try (few pages back now) You should get it anyway to improve the GPS. Go to GPS test, System settings, SULP setting and select SLP Auto Provision. That makes GPS waaayyy faster for me. Can this be turned on by default Paul in RC2 maybe? im just looking forward to the custom kernel now :)
Guest Artemon Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 This rom is really fast! Thank you Paul! I use it with Chainfire 3d (from Market) and with Chainfire Tegra driver. This is really really fast! Thank you once again!
Guest JanOwe Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 (edited) What are the correct permissions for the gps.conf file in system/etc? Mine are rwxrwxr-x, but i`m not sure that`s correct. Edited June 22, 2011 by JanOwe
Guest Elte Hupkes Posted June 22, 2011 Report Posted June 22, 2011 Hrm strange, I was standing in the bike shed after work waiting for the pooring rain to stop, pulled out my phone, launched GPS Status.. Fix within 10 seconds, 7 sats. I'd been fooling around with some settings but no idea which one did the trick (although I'd put my money on a combination of the APN and a reboot). I just flashed the GB theme and my slider is fine. You're not using a theme are you? Circular battery or anything? P Nope, no theme, just kitchen MCR. Coming from Fr18b2 (where I had the same problem) I did a back to ext3, baseband flash to 0614, full wipe and Fr19 flash. The only things I have selected below the "Expert options" are Remove Battery Popup, Hidden Menu and Gingerbread theme. I could post a list of the other things I have selected but I'm not sure it could even be app related? I'd post a picture but I don't think I can pull the slider and make a screendump at the same time. Also the only device I currently have lying around to take a picture is the phone, I don't suppose you have a flashable zip that physically moves the camera out of the phone so it can take a picture of itself B)? (actually I would not be that surprised if you did) On an unrelated matter, I just noticed the "notification lights staying on" bug is gone, very happy about that :)!

Guest Peterfdevries Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Need someone to grab the update file... P Sorry P, tried to download it but there isn't an update available in the Netherlands. The update service tells me that my softwareversion is the latest. Edited June 23, 2011 by Peterfdevries
Guest Husum182 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Hey Paul. This new 606 ROM with 606 Baseband runs very very nice, and battery life has improved alot for me - very good indeed. Only problem I have now is random BSOD, where battery pull is necessary to turn phone on again. Have you or anyone else still been experiencing this behaviour after 606 or is it just me? Did full wipe before flashing ofcourse. Thanks for a wonderful ROM - keeps getting better and better each time :)
Guest dereumel Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Need someone to grab the update file... P Found it on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137032 Hope that helps ;-) eumel
Guest the1c3man Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Ok, after hearing about a new update I've just plugged my phone in and checked and it says there is one available. I'm on Stock UK 10d with th 614 baseband, so lets see where the update takes me! Edit:Just doing a backup, then once updated, I'll do another nadroid and pass the links to new files to Paul if he wants them? Which files did you need again? Edit: Says V10C is available Edit: After all that, I'm still on V10D and its put back the 0405 baseband, can't see anything else different! pants! Edited June 23, 2011 by the1c3man
Guest Pikette Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) I think this is only the RIL and not the whole BB. Found it on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1137032 Hope that helps ;-) eumel Edited June 23, 2011 by Pikette
Guest Elte Hupkes Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 My battery life has dropped significantly in Fr19RC1, 15% in a few hours doing pretty much nothing. Spare Parts confirms the doing nothing though, I don't see any application actually using anything there (no partial wake whatsoever for example), so I suppose it's a calibration issue.. Just wiped battery stats, let's see what happens.
Guest N0r0 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) relly nice work! :) Battery life seems to be really good (much better than FR17 I've been using before). Until now I haven't had any problems ;> Nice work, keep it on! @Husum182 I'm as well using RIL and Baseband 606 (and of course FR19 RC1), and for me no BSODs, when do they appear? kind regards Edited June 23, 2011 by N0r0
Guest norbee007 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Experience: I use FR19 beta 4 and the 606 BB. I updated to 614 BB but the signal strengh was awful and the gps did not find any sats. I made a cwm backup, did a factory reset, then reverted to 606 BB and restored my backup. Before this i had BSOD like 5 times a day, but this way i do not have. I recommend for everybody to make a backup, make a full wipe then restore it, and there will be no bsod... It helped me with fr18 also. :)

Guest Clone519 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Woah I guess its time to start working on v10d now, they reported that it fixes the lockscreen lag issues
Guest Rusty! Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 v10D has been out for ages, LG have an odd naming policy.
Guest Ph4nt0m Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 Don't know why some of you have problems with battery and some other stuff... FR19 RC1 works perfect for me. After 1 day and 8 hours on battery I have still 35% left. And I've used the phone quite a lot: GPS 1h 45min (screen off), voice calls 40min, 20 - 30 messages, WiFi or 3G always on, Sync usually off... I've been using browser, tapatalk and some other network related apps for a few minutes too... Really can't ask for more. Maybe your have problems because of some application.
Guest Clone519 Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 v10D has been out for ages, LG have an odd naming policy. Yeah I was confused, hmmm I wonder if the gingerbread update will be called v11a or something
