H definitely works, just confirming this :D

And is there any evidence that both cores are working? I've been hearing things like only one core will run until an Android version comes along that will support it?

What is your baseband version? Just checking to double confirm works on other version of baseband.

Thanks.

Hi Paul,

With Pre-Fr9 and the new baseband updated(1035.21_20110315), I am able to get H, instead of before 3G.

Could it be the conflict between the new kernel and the old baseband? I am just guessing. :D

I've got the older baseband (1035.21_20110223) and I do get H with fr9 preview.

Mine previously was baseband(1035.21_20110218), 5 days different from yours.

Might be the issue there, but anyway, updated to the new baseband, works good.

Is the fr9 only downloaded if you are a plusmember?

At the moment, you have to have access to the kitchen to build the FR9 test. I'm sure Paul'll make it availble as a pre-cooked ROM as soon as he's happy with it :-)

Both cores are working. Don't believe everything you hear.

Android supports multicore, the apps just need to make use of it.

Even if apps don't, load will be distributed across the cores for multiple apps, so the 'no dual core support' is a fallacy really.

Nooooo!! I noobed out :D

Flashed the rom through recovery but got stuck in a booting loop..

Restarted into recovery, ran a restore but now Im stuck on the LG boot screen..

What can I do now?!

Fr9 is the greatest hit! The first one which is smoother than stock in every situation. Dungeon Defenders is just 9/10 compared to 6/10 stock and 5/10 fr8. No probs after one hour testing but inputlag is still there...

True, and if you watch the logs you can see the second core come online.

But "dual core" is not the same as SMP and we for sure don't have that (yet)!

OK,

So now after working tirelessly for several hours trying to figure out how to take a screen grab, can someone please tell me what the hell that little icon of the '1' is in my notification bar, it's been there since I got the phone and I don't have a clue what it is, what it does or how to get rid of it.

Ps

Paul, the rate at which you tweet is unbelievable, how do you have time to create all these Roms???

That my friend... is a really nice icon. The reason is that *only* the framework can put an icon on that side of the notification bar... what version and kernel are you running (Settings|About phone)?

It would be also great to get some more details about your phone before you change the software.

It's probably nothing significant, perhaps some test or engineering thing, but it would be good to know nevertheless.

Edit: the icon shading seems consistent with the custom LG bar too...

djmcnz,

Thanks for the reply, Like I said it was there when I first turned the phone on (Stock LG Firmware) and has been there with every Rom I install.

Hi

My Quadrant score dropped from around 3100 to 2800 when going from Fr8 to Fr9 preview.

Tried several times.

Best regards

Anders

EDIT: Ok, booted and tried some more. Now got a 3228 :-)

It's been there with every rom? Including ones from Paul?

If you disable network data does it stay there? Does it ever go away? Is it there before you apply any mod (like battery %)?

Yep, been there all the time

Let me test some.

EDIT:

Ok so I played with a lot of settings but could not find anything to turn it off.

One thing of interest though was in Settings -> Call Settings -> Additional Settings there is an option for Select Line which is set to 1 and if I try to change it to Line 2 I get 'Unexpected response from network'

Could this be it or am I barking up the wrong tree, I am on Virgin by the way if it makes any difference

I've found that when my phone gets a bit sluggish if I open osmonitor its unable to work out the current cpu load. Probably nothing useful but I thought I'd mention it incase its anything significant.

Currently running Fr9.

Wow so I wasnt the only one with the problem. I had it twith stock and 'vanilla'. Notice on the notification bar it shows T-Mobile and |T-Mobile. My sim used to take forever getting a signal. I thought it has to be my one2one sim that I had about 10 years ago lol. So I got a new T-Mobile sim and its fixed

Problem was solved with getting a new T-Mobile sim

This is something you need to check with your provider.

Basically this is Line 1 selected on your SIM as active. (reason you are getting 'Unexpected response from network' is that you don't have Line 2 set by your provider)

Some SIM cards support 2 lines (2 numbers, 1 number +data....) where you can switch between, something like dualSIM but in one SIM card.

Depends on your previous device which may not have this notification display and this is the reason why you are seeing this now.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can disable this icon in notification area from device menu of the handset, however I am sure Paul can tweak it or at least give an idea if you are keen to tweak it by yourself.

Hope this helps you, if you need more info, try Google it [Dual Line SIM Card]
