I cant wait for a finished smooth performance.

It is so sad to see that a Dual core CPU with a fairly powerful GPU cant get you there on Froyo.

What also upsets me a little bit is the 2D graphics.

Have any one noticed that in various benchmark apps all you get is around 19 fps ?!

that is messed up but i guess it is NVIDIA's fault.

Does any one know anything about a tweaked driver or something ?

What do you mean, I dont see anything wrong with 2D & 3D performance, all my games are butter smooth...

If its benchmark what you care the most, download Fps2D, I get there ~100 Fps

Piter1225 You are right. thank you for that.

I was sure that the hardware isnt up to it. and i was wondering about the 19fps in quadrant since i have just tested scumVM and tried out a few games but there was no issue with frame rate at all.

I think that the current benchmark software isn't that good but it will be nice to have something like quadrant that can actually test different hardware specs and versions of android. otherwise its just stupid to pay for them.

thank you again.

Dear Paul,

I would like to ask you plz if you can add the Arabic language in this Rom of the original ROM , I hope that this will help us.

from here

http://www.mediafire.com/?ur842ow6s74h158

We have also a problem in the alignment, we want the text from right to left in the Arabic language.

I don't mean to be rude but you should have read the thread to keep track of the progress.

It has an issue with the kernel.

Paul will release Fr15 today (hopefully) with the fixes.

Cheers.

Sure, I could have read the thread... and I did before flashing

But, as a paying customer, I did actually think that a not-really-working ROM would be removed from the kitchen, and replaced with Fr13 (for example), until the Fr15 came online.

Anyways, as long as the phone reboots, I still keep getting my messages :o - so I can wait for the Fr15...

Or you could have just taken your own backup of 1) Your phone 2) FR13 to roll back to.

Right again, you are

I'm not trying to be a bug in your bed here... I'm not complaining, because this basically is my own fault.

But - I'm merely pointing out an important principle of having a business like this (small or big - no difference). The risk of errors, and unhappy customers will increase in the same ratio, as you fail to remove non-functional products from your "shop".

Don't get me wrong. I love, what this is doing for my phone - except for this Fr14 :o

Back to topic:

When I was on Fr11, I could easily score 3000+ in Quadrant (best was 3246).

With Fr12, 13, and 14, I can't reach that kind of scores anymore.

Have any of you observed a similar drop in performance?

He just said on Twitter MCR FR15 is in final testing with a sub 2.6.32.36 kernel to stop music stuttering and browser lags as CM7 also has, which should make it work pretty well at least until CM7 reaches a stable state.

oh no - I signed up yesterday and now he is going to fuc...... Samsung. I just sold my Samsung Tab and Galaxy S because I was sick of buggy firmwares and Samsung promises.

I saw a chance in the LG but now Paul is certainly all over the S II - I bet that the firmware is crapware again all over

Yep it seems like Paul is moving to SGS II.

That kinda sux but theere isnt much to do about android v2.2.2 that lg had made.

We have to wait for the Gingerbread release, then we will see some interesting performance increase, and yet i don't believe that Ginger bread will take full advantage of the Dual core awesomeness.

I don't think that Paul will abandon LG DUAL.

By the way "Uploading Fr15 now"

OK, Fr15 kitchen is online. If this is confirmed to be a 'good' release, i'll post the prebakes.

Basically, i've stepped back from the CM kernel and continued the development of my own MCK kernel for the time being. I think you should find this new release fast and reliable. You should see good responsiveness, no browser stalls and 100% working functionality. As always, your feedback is appreciated!

As well as the overhauled kernel, i've added the gps.conf for faster GPS fixes and implemented the '20MB RAM gain' fix that removes the not-needed update notification parts.

Enjoy - this is a non-wipe update as usual (if coming from another MCR since Fr4). Apologies in advance if the kitchens get loaded up, I have 2 new servers coming online soon to add kitchen capacity.

P

Changelog

3 May Fr15

  • Reverted to MCK kernel - patched to .28 stable and with a ton of performance improvements
  • Added gps.conf to /system/etc
  • Patched settings and removed update client (gains 20MB RAM)

Thanks looking forward to the prebake.

Also is it not possible for you to port the G2X gingerbread leaked Rom you got hold of for O2X?
