I'm hoping that you change your mind and trow it out tonight instead

MCR FR15 is surely the best yet. Hoping for customized kernels to work well with this soon so we can start overclocking a bit for gaming, other than that it seems pretty good.

About your vanilla 2.3 for the G2x, is the RIL from froyo so different from GB that it cannot be ported across (or even taken from CM), to get it working? Or can't you release it since LG won't allow you to do it?

The battery life increase that GB generally seems to bring might be worth it!

Just a quick question from a new member :-)

How does one revert back to the stock rom (having performed a nandroid backup of the stock rom with clockworkmod recovery) after installing FR15 that auto converts the file system to EXT4 from EXT3 ??? Thanks!

The RIL from Froyo doesn't work on it. Yet. I'm still experimenting.

Use my EXT3 revert package then restore your backup.

Hmm, Fr15 seems good; I just had to pull battery after a frozen black screen though. Also I have the same "won't stop syncing" problem I had with the previous versions, which drains my battery. I haven't wiped since Fr8 though, so I'm gonna try that tonight..

YouTube working here too on fr15. Just like everything else. And it feels really smooth.

Thank you so much Paul.

Just noticed something funky when having LG and GB keyboards installed:

1) Make sure the gesture to move cursor by tapping the phone is in use

2) start typing to a textfield with LG keyboard, the gesture works and cursor moves by tapping the sides of the phone

3) then I changed the input method to GB keyboard and to my surprise the cursor gesture still worked!

If I then try using the gesture with GB keyboard in some other textfield, the gesture no longer works but I can get it to work again by switching to LG keyboard and then back to GB keyboard.

did you select the remove battery full popup from the kitchen? earlier in the thread somebody suggested this causes it when it happens after charging it, or maybe even in other cases. maybe something to not select for the prebake paul, since it seems to cause issues!

btw, i just checked tethering and it works fine. that is good news :-)

I use the 'remove battery popup' option and don't have said issue...

I have horrible battery draining issues since stock, my battery lasts 6-8 hours even on light usage,

what would you recommend i do to detect the problem?

I had the same problem. For me was the lg e-mail with my exchange server. I have installed google e-mail and the problem has gone. Hope this help

Neither.

And I do have to admit, Fr15 is slicker than the others. I'm a little concerned about your SGSII first impressions Paul, is it really that much quicker?

Application "battery calibration "is very useful when installing New rom...
