Guest Raven1 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 380 kitchen downloads and not many comments about problems...This might be the one for me
Guest mazertm Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Just installed FR15. Seems bloody fast with minor lags during market apps install. Good job paul!
Guest aaww Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Critical Fr15 update - please do 'adb shell mount' or 'mount' from a shell (e.g. connectbot) on the device... if you are showing 'EXT3' instead of 'EXT4' for your /system or /data mounts (likely only people who switched from stock to MCR at FR13/14/15, please re-download and re-install. P I am good(just cheeked) but it seems to be a bit strange that during the Flash of Fr15, there is a script that checks for EXT4, guess it doesn't really work :o thank you Paul for a grate release i am really happy with my phone
Guest gladiamos Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I've seen only one bug but not major. When i have the pop saying the battery is low, the screen insteed to be darker is lighter so not good to save battery !!
Guest goatee Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) Being really simple I'm sure, but what's your EXT3 revert package? Is that to nvflash it? EDIT: Found it at http://android.modaco.com/content/lg-optim...r-back-to-ext3/ Use my EXT3 revert package then restore your backup. P Edited May 4, 2011 by goatee
Guest wapz Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I can confirm about battery drain. With CM it takes minimal power when doing nothing, with FR15 so far it seems to drain -40mV per 5 minutes even when the screen is off and i'm not using it. Not sure why. Anybody found what app/part seems to use a lot of battery? I only have the LG Calculator, Home chooser, Memo, Screenshot, Smartshare and FM radio selected, rest is Google.
Guest Elte Hupkes Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 After a wipe I'm no longer continuously syncing . Reinstalling all my old apps was ridiculously fast, I just used a "reinstall all from market" feature on about 20 apps and it completed without a stutter, downloading and installing them all simultaneously. The GPS fix still only works well if I apply this. Battery seems to be going down quite fast atm but that has happened before and usually solves itself after a few reboots, so I'm hoping that will be the case again this time around. By the way, has anyone else noticed the boot animation being a lot smoother? I do not care about that at all (I hope to not be booting all to often :o), just found it curious.
Guest Paul Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Hi Paul, I noticed in Fr15, gps.conf is set to: NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org How about using a the more universal "pool.ntp.org", rather than one targeted at those staying in North America? Yeah, fair point, I just pulled the gps.conf from the reference FRG83G build. P
Guest aaww Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 After working with th3e phone all is working just fine. I charged the battery fully and used the BatteryCalibration app to fix the gages and also uses FasterFix to set my gps to the Europe pool. I didn't have any restarts or any strange issues what so ever, also the HDMI works just grate and there is more free ram on the system now. i wish there was more but cant change the hardware on this thing
Guest ascito Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I'm traveling and I should need a better battery life, now I'm @50% after 4 hours of minimum usage . Would u suggest me to revert back to fr13?
Guest lukemo Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 I'm traveling and I should need a better battery life, now I'm @50% after 4 hours of minimum usage . Would u suggest me to revert back to fr13? The only thing stopping me from going back to Modaco (now CM7 #4) is battery life, optimal with CM7, and minimal with modaco releases at least from fr12. Paul is there a solution to battery drain of your ROM's? Thanks.

Guest lukemo Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Is CM#4 improved from initial release? I don't think this is the correct thread to speak about CM7  ...but the answer is yes, apart for my problems with call drops (operator H3G Italy - UMTS). Now I have just flashed CM#5.

Guest aaww Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Yes I know but it was for battery life I was asking about CM if you use apps that keep your phone awake you have a problem other than that the phone doesn't have any issues with battery. Just charge it 100% once and calibrate using an app. you should be fine. From my short experience, the best indication that there is a gage problem is to restart the phone. if each reboot the numbers are doping in 1-2%. Now after the calibration i can say that i need to reboot at least 5 times in a row for the gage to show 1 % less.
Guest aaww Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 Hi Paul do you know this project: https://guardianproject.info/ ? Guest orion1602 Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) come back from CM7, i really like CM7, but the modaco one is really good. The fact that it is based on the stock rom help a lot for the support of HDMI, stock camera.apk, the memo widget FR15 is really smooth. no problem encountered, it also correct my batterie mV probleme (before that it was only showing 3mV or 4mV modaco or CM7 , now it's 3xxxmV, 4xxxmV) ps : just receive my hdmi (4$) and it's very good on the pc's screen.
