Guest Riemen Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Can't say that I have any special battery problems with FR15. After flashing and deleting batterystats, the battery went empty very fast. Now after a complete loading-cycle it has gone back to normal. My phone was on AC over night. It was on standby all the day and now 11 hours later, it was at 75% battery. Seems the phone only needs some time to calibrate the batterystats. It's just like all people complained about weak battery when the phone was new on the market, but after some loading-cycles, it went better. I only wish this kernel would support undervolting. With undervolting, my battery lasted really long... EDIT: Just had a sudden reboot. I did nothing, the phone was just lying around in standby. This never happened with FR12 or FR12 and Eternity-kernel before. Seems, there is something unstable with this rom... Edited May 5, 2011 by Riemen

Guest alvari Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Just started to wonder one thing: how can I restore the default wallpaper after I've changed it? I can't find the default wallpaper from gallery or wallpapers when trying to change it.
Guest Aduck79 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Any news on Juice Defender? I'm stille getting reboots when I enable it on fr15.
Guest alvari Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Any news on Juice Defender? I'm stille getting reboots when I enable it on fr15. I actually had my first reboot soon after I disabled juicedefender. edit: I was playing around with WP clock light at the moment, had a FC with selecting background image and right after submitting error report my phone rebooted. Guest jon.m.knight Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) How long did everyone wait for first boot after a fullwipe & flash from stock? Mine's been going for ~10mins now and I'm starting to get a bit worried.. Is stuck on the LG screen with loading bar, the bar's stopped moving but the phone is still responsive as it lights up when a key is pressed.. e: the flash from CWM seemed ridicolously fast, said it had completed but was all in under 20secs.. alarm bells started rining then.. e2: used the convert ext4 back to ext3 zip package, reflashed fr15, it's taking a lot longer than 20secs now which is promising... previously it skipped over the writing system / writing boot, looks like I could be in business now as I can see the LG / MoDaCo splash screen. e3: This ROM is awesome. good job Paul Edited May 5, 2011 by jon.m.knight
Guest Riemen Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 people still had random reboots with fr12 Maybe it was just luck till now. I will report if this happens again.
Guest withoutwings Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Guys, random reboots/shutdowns/hard-locks are indeed *random* - anything which appears to the contrary is a coincidence (or circumstantial). It is a low-level kernel issue which will not become more or less likely between any FRx release (as Paul hasn't tinkered with that part to my knowledge) and is definitely not the fault of any app. LG have apparently identified and promised a fix, though we may have to wait for Gingerbread for it at this rate. Also as far as battery performance goes, check Spare Parts-->Battery History to identify if any apps are using too much Sensor or Partial Wake time. In my case the Alarm Clock causes sensors to stay active 100% of the time until I notice and reboot - draining the battery faster than usual. And if I have my alarm set every day then it happens almost every day!
Guest Trym Hansen Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Just started to wonder one thing: how can I restore the default wallpaper after I've changed it? I can't find the default wallpaper from gallery or wallpapers when trying to change it. There actually is a copy of the default wallpaper hidden deep inside the system somewhere, found it when exploring the root filesystem, but you cannot reach it in any "normal" way. The wallpaper is part of the wallpaper-gallery of the LG default homescreen, so if you have uninstalled that, you can't set it back... but... here's a page which has all of the wallpapers of the 2X, and plenty of others. Just download them and put them in a folder on the phone. http://www.techcredo.com/android/official-...s-2x-wallpapers ::Trym

I don't think so... losing 5% in 11 hours standby should be decent...
Guest Emmepi Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Battery drain here too ! We can't continue using this rom decently, i don't leave near a plug...
Guest Marcus Reichert Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Good Morning Paul just wanted to give a Feedback. I used FR15 since the day you released it. I generated it with the kitchen. I have about 30 apps installed - no system tools - I have some bugs: 1) If I insert the USB Cable for flashing 2 of 10 times the Phones just reboots 2) If the phone is running for 6 hours with avereage usage the system slows down to a status where I can not use it anymore. If I tap an icon it takes minutes to open it. I have no special app running - only std email is open and gets mails every 10 minutes. I tried LG launcher and gingerbread launcher - the same 3) The system randomly just shuts up. I can not start it anymore until I put out the akku. I know these are very undefinitive errors but I do not find any muster / grid. It happens all the time. Especially surfing with std browser sloes doen the machine. It feels like the lags on the first samsung i9000 firmwares with the sd crad format from samsung. I hope you are working allready on FR16 - if I get any clu I post. regrads and a sunny day Marcus
Guest k03kj3 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) I was having the same problem like most members on this forum, the huge battery drain. I came from CM7, did a complete wipe and flashed to FR15. I couldnt make it to 8 hours of battery! Tried to install FR12, wipe, FR15 ==> same problem So i reinstalled my backup of FR12, and flashed to FR15 without a wipe. Now i lost 6% battery in the last hour, with: wifi on (not connected) Whatsapp 1x push mail (hotmail) Some web browsing I also noticed that my device isnt getting warmed up anymore, which it used to do  6% an hour seems decent for me. Hope this info will be any use to other members. FR 15 at baseband 1035.21_20110405 Edited May 6, 2011 by k03kj3
Guest wapz Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 two biggest worries for the battery in spare parts: - partial wake - phone has a huge blue bar - network usage - process called "0" maybe these are related. is 0 network location, maybe? what else could it be?

Guest Husum182 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I for one have fallen back to FR12 - the battery drain is simply too high for me on FR15 to use on a daily basis, gotta have a phone that can last from 7 in the morning untill 11 at night when I go to bed where I can charge again  - FR15 cant do that. From what I read here and on XDA, it seems its a general problem for everyone with FR15 - Hope Paul can work his magic and find out what is causing it :o
Guest AbuPetrov Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Hello everybody Overall FR15 seems to be very stable, lag-free. I don't experience battery drain - now I have 28 hours since last charge and 48% of battery remaining. Maybe this is because of my agressive settings against parasite traffic - i switch 3G on only when needed, and use Droidwall to allow network access only for selected apps. Dear Paul, I noticed one minor glitch -I use Russian locale, but the date display on the lockscreen is mixed - day of week is in Russian, but month name is in Enlglish. The same was true on FR12. Switching on and off 3G all the time defeats the purpose of a smartphone imo :/ Then you cant use gtalk for example or know when you get a new email etc. I know it is possible to have an android phone with 3G on all the time and mail sync etc and still have good battery life - FR12 has alright battery life, can atleast last the entire day  Still improvements to be made though,

From about 97% yesterday morning, 20 mins calls, few texts, few e-mails and not much else, I got 24 hours out of the phone and woke up to see it on about 27% I think it was... Well pleased with that.

Well sure, if you can live with a phone that is online only once in a while, then I guess its a workaround using these tools - Just not a viable solution for me - so i'll wait untill something better comes along, and stick with FR12 for now

Guest ermacwins Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Fr15 85% battery at 5:30 yesterday, 12,am battery dead with web browsing here and there 2 phone calls and no wifi
Guest Wovchik Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) All battery Discussion should be in an extra post! The battery drain could have so much reasons and its not only the rom. here its ok FR15 no wipe since FR7. Lot off apps installed, at home with Wifi on so please make new Thread and discuss it there. Guest Paul Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Testing some enhancements for Fr16, including (but certainly not limited to) a mandatory 'flash when fully charged' and battery stats wipe on install. P
