Guest MaJz Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I don't get email-notification any more with FR15. Did someone also experienced a gmail-notification problem?
Guest okdac Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Testing some enhancements for Fr16, including (but certainly not limited to) a mandatory 'flash when fully charged' and battery stats wipe on install. P Tremendous ! Thanks in advance Paul. Nice to see you're still taking care of us ;-)
Guest Qwertymon Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 man the whining about battery is OTT, have you re calibrated your battery for the new rom install? did you install it when your battery was half charged? are you looking at battery usage? mines been off charge almost 24h hours now and its at 40% and ive had a few games of superstarsoccer, multiple texts, a few phone calls, a bit of web browsing and set up a new ui for like 40 minutes. All i did was charge it, and before the flash wiped battery stats. IM hoping paul ports the g2x gingerbread >_>

Guest djmcnz Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Can FR series add Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese into its language system? Sorry my English is not good With this app (link) you can select "Chinese (China)" zH CN. Edit: It does make the menus and some apps Chinese, I tried it. Edited May 6, 2011 by djmcnz
Guest okdac Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 'devening Paul, Any hope for a FR16 before the WE ? I know, I'm a bit whining...but so much like to cook... Thx anyway. okdac
Guest naftali Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Hi Paul, thanks for the rom two problems that I encountered so far: 1. Hebrew fonts show from left to right in some occasions (adw icons panels and numbers on sms ) 2. more important - I can not share files through bluetooth. When you choose to send/share files you have only email options and no bluetooth. Both things were working fine on stock version.
Guest Involver Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I actually had my first reboot soon after I disabled juicedefender. edit: I was playing around with WP clock light at the moment, had a FC with selecting background image and right after submitting error report my phone rebooted. My FR15 still reboots when using JD to toggle WiFi... but so far no response from the devs of both JD and Green Power (which has the exact same problem)... Oh well, let's hope Paul can figure out what's causing this...
Guest inza Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) Hi, I'm loving your ROM but I have two problems: 1. Battery life sucks. 49% left after 5 hours. 2. When I try to fix the batterylife with Juice Defender I get reboots as soon as the screen turns of. I'm running EternityProject Kernel 1.4 and I have OC:d to 1,2 GHz, max 500 MHz when screen is off. I have also done a battery callibration with no results. Yes, when JD (or Green power) doesn't manage WiFi everything is OK, no reboots... other than that no problems (OK, maybe battery could do better as well)...
Guest maedox Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Battery life does not suck, you're holding it wrong. :o
Guest inza Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Yes, when JD (or Green power) doesn't manage WiFi everything is OK, no reboots... other than that no problems (OK, maybe battery could do better as well)... I just now noticed that wifi never turns off with this ROM. When in stanby it is still on all the time. This might explain why the battery life sucks and JD doesn't work with wifi. I noticed it becouse I was using VLC Remote and I could instantly pause/play after unlocking. On stock there was a small delay before it reconected. Also wifi used 45% of my battery yesterday when I checked in the settings. With stock (and JD) it was something like 8%.
Guest Steppo Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) I also started using Juice Defender, but i think i got something wrong in the setting although i dunno what. at home i use wireless and enabled wifi preferred and let JD handle wifi/3g, but when my phone wakes up after standby the wireless symbol is no longer there(now there is the data icon again) but it stays disabled an wont enable until i kill the juice defender service.. someone who experienced the same issue? all the settings in JD are enabled so it should enable wifi/data when it is there/needed or am i getting something wrong? edit:nvm im dumb  Edited May 7, 2011 by Steppo
Guest Macheath Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 After some testing, I must say there IS huge battery drain in Fr15 and I can say you why! Phone at 12:00 pm unplugged, battery status 100% (after reboot, no apps started) This morning 10:00 am battery status 28% Looking in 'spare parts' it says 'phone' is about 70% in use, THEN I look in 'autokilller' which processes are running and... there is the gameloft HD game 'shadow guardian' in 'background' running! (I didn't play it for days) Conclusion: 'phone' starts randomly apps in background.
Guest wapz Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Hmmm how do I reenable the bootsound? option in the kitchen.

This is how the Android system works - apps stay loaded in the memory until the system requires the space at which point they are killed. Some apps are set to load on startup. Even if you are right then it would be a problem with Shadow Guardian rather than the phone. Edited May 7, 2011 by davey4444

Guest twentycents Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 (edited) hello all. some body know why I can't download a kitchen rom? I'm login on, and I have paid for become a premium user like my member statut say. there is an other thing to do? I have allready download 3 kicthens roms, but now it's read "only for premium members" Edited May 7, 2011 by twentycents

Even if you are right then it would be a problem with Shadow Guardian rather than the phone. As I said, I did not launch the game after reboot and this game is not set to load on startup. If there is a problem with 'Shadow Guardian', it should be listed in 'spare parts', but there is only 'phone' with huge battery usage. So, when I did not launch it, who else? I suggest it a serious bug in 'phone' app.
Guest Raven1 Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 I use FR15 prebake and my phone barely reaches the 3000mark in Quadrant(more like 2700-3000), and I still have lags and long waiting times when adding a widget to homescreen. Gaming is great though, but I dont remember it being bad before either. With all the debate about battery usage, I would like to add that my phone used 19% battery in 13 hours, with wifi and 3g and sync on. I dont think that is horrible as I use whatsapp and such also - but not fantastic either.. When I tested it last I used less than 15% in 15 hours(Stock fw, April 10, dont remember if it was before the baseband update).
