I'm on FR15

GPS problem is here too.

Can not find sattellites.

I live in Europe/Hungary.

Can somebody help me, please?

There's a separate thread in this subforum about GPS issues which helped me a lot (it's somewhere on the second page now I think). Changing some things from the HiddenMenu basically got me from no fix at all to a pretty decent one, although it's been faster in previous releases.

I'm running Fr15 now and I'm very happy about it, haven't experienced a single reboot or freeze (at least, not since my last wipe) and my phone's been on 44 hours now with the battery at 54% (admittedly I haven't used it that much, but 3G and sync have been on all the time). One problem though, and this issue has been around for a couple of versions but I hadn't mentioned it yet: sometimes when I lock my screen the bottom LED's stay on. I've tried to find out exactly when this happens, but so far no luck with that.

Why can't I connect to 3G with FR15? With FR14 it worked fine, but now it can't connect. My brother has the same phone with the same ROM and he said he could fix it by reflsahing the ROM. If I do that, will I loose all of my data (like SMS, saved games, etc.)?

Regarding the battery life: I listened to music for around 1,5 hours then I played with Leave Devil Alone for around 4 hours and it's on 70% ...

I've got a question regarding adding apps to a ROM - I just baked my own FR15 ROM, installed it fresh, and just now finished downloading all my apps.

However, I forgot to include the HTC IME and Titanium Backup - So, what's the easiest way to add those forgotten items to my current ROM?

Can I bake another ROM, uncheck everything except for those two items, and run it as an update from CWM - thus leaving my apps intact?

THANKS!

Hi,

I need help to modify Cairo Daylight Savings Time to +2.00 instead of +3.00, because this year Egypt has decided to discard Daylight savings and the wrong +3.00 is messing with my widget time that cannot be adjusted manually. thanks!

... use a different city with +2 ... that's what I did cause my country isn't even listed in these releases.

No just bake a full Rom with the kb included and flash without wiping.

lost about 30%ewhile i was asleep past 8h... 4 mail accounts set up - one syncs every 2h the other 3 every 8h, fb and twitter (using th lg sns widget) are syncin every 4h and whatsapp was on.

my friend has the exactly same setup but she uses stock rom and lost 5% during the night.

on both phones: wlan and gps and bt switched off, no live wallpaper, we went to bed at the same time and woke up 2gether...

i think that proves that there is sth wrong with the rom (did a full wipe before install and did a battery calibration, already charged it a couple of times after calibration).

just lost 16% again - all i did was writing my last and this post, my phone was in stand by in the mean time, same setup as in my prev post...

I've been testing fr15 without using juice defender now for couple of days, and so far I'm getting 24+ hours with 3g/h and auto-sync always on, playing games and surfing the web. Also got two email accounts that sync every 60 minutes. But then again, I haven't had battery issues with any of the previous releases either. Have all you with battery issues had the same battery problems with all previous roms you've tried?

Hi guys,

Since flashing FR15 I noticed that my battery seems to take AGES to charge up.

Has been on charge for about 2 1/2 or 3 hours this morning and has gone from 30% to 73%.... i'm sure it never used to take that long.

Anyone else had this problem?

I have said it before and I will say it again; LG has done the worst job in the history of Android and the battery driver is sh*t. It might behave properly, but it also might not. If you boot your phone with the charger connected the meter will go completely bonkers. Just try it.

If I were to take a wild guess, most of the guys in here complaining about bad battery life either has a case of driver bugginess or have some rogue app(s) installed.

I have sustained good battery life myself for the past week. I had a couple of four hour bus rides where I watched a few movies/tv-episodes. 1 hour 45 minutes of 720x320 ~1300 kb/s H.264 video ate 25 points off the battery meter, from 91 % down to 66 %. This was with the normal syncing and apps running in mediocre 2G most of the way with some spots of bad 3G/HSxPA reception now and then. In general use with RSS/Twitter/Facebook/browsing it usually ends up at around 20-30 % after 24 hours or so. I'm usually on WLAN (always on) and don't call much, so fairly good battery life I believe.

Are you by any chance connecting it directly to your computer? Charging via USB takes at least twice as long as from the wall charger.

Guys please stop this battery issue MADNESS :)

I have done some more digging and it seems like P990/P999 has a broken battery driver, and using a custom made kernel doesn't make it work any better

One of the CM (CyanogenMod) team members(Chris Soyars) has discovered this issue with the driver .

and i have seen several post on XDA as well

So please guys, don't take the battery percentage readings seriously until the next update will come or someone will fix it.

It doesn't help anyone to complain about it when the real problem is with LG P990/P999 dev team mistakes.

Paul Maybe we should have a thread just for that ?! :P

Yes mate, charging from PC.

From 9:30am this morning, I am just about to unplug to go home now = 7 hours to get me from 30% to 98%... still not full......

Can you give me some links?

Because I can't understand what does "broken battery driver" means.

There is a MAX17040 that sends battery data via 2-wire interface.

You can monitor battery voltages and you can see that battery voltage goes down.. And that's not an "opininion".

So, Can you explain me what is "boken"...?

Are you still sure about that?

source please, indeed. and please continue the battery madness because it obviously is the only big issue with any o2x rom at the moment that we need to get under control.. somehow.

I am not a developer, please contact Contact Chris Soyars from CyanogenMod for the info you need.

But seriously the battery doesn't work any better on Stock.

the gage is less jumpy but other than that it is the same for me on stock and on Fr15.

If you are unhappy about the phone change it while you can LG does a very bad job when it comes to updates.

I am sorry that I disregard your wish of silence, but to my mind the issue with the battery for many of us is not bad readings from the battery driver, but something in the ROM eating up all the power. In my case the phone is awake at least half the time during the day, almost never down to 5 mA, usually well above 60. Currently it is the "Dialer" that is keeping the wake lock the longest.
