Guest will8578 Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 i think uk phones are gsm, read it somewhere, that one is for putting them onto sim cards, i need one to get them off, when i go into contacts and try to import from sim card, it says none on there, yet when i have rebooted back to 2.1 they come up automatically, and flb rom aswell.

Sync them to your google account, its much easier because if you decide to use a different sim card then you can access your contacts easily from your google accounts. Hmmmm!! i think its impossible to port your contacts to your sim on 2.1 :/ http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/discussions/...60def1a9e007818
Guest will8578 Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 yeah thanks, i'll hav to go back to 2.1 and resync them all, thanks for your help :)
Guest twrock Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Thanks for keeping up the work on this Antonio. I don't know if this feedback is useful or not, but here goes. I tested 04/20 for a few hours last night and this morning. On a clean boot, it seems to work fairly well, not as fast as CM6 with the same settings, but close. But there is some sort of major problem still for me with the gallery app. Any attempt at using it brings the whole system to a standstill, from which it doesn't seem to recover until I reboot. Having a look at running processes, it seems that there are some media and calendar processes that are continuously "restarting" and never become stable. I don't know what it means, but when it happens, the phone becomes almost unusable. The battery is used very quickly for me, but maybe that is related to the above mentioned problems.

Yeah, im getting the calender problem too, it keeps appearing in my task manager. Twrock use TasKiller and set it to autokill. This should fix the battery issue.

But I will keep testing each release of CM7 as those come out.
Guest Mr Dai Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 any one found the touch screen calibration? :)

BTW i was using official 2.1 DE update. do you think that is the problem ? the DE update??? EDIT: also in cm plus i have problems. Guest necrologist Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 (edited) almost bricked my baby :) but it's working nicely now, just dont try to manually copy the contents of the dta2sd.zip to bin :) installed cm>dta2sd>gapps, also made sure before every one that sd-ext is mounted (from almost brick state; official 2.1-hu > amon-ra > flb 1.7 > cmr > cm7) u8220, 4gb class 2 (!) sandisk microsd 768MB ext2 part, no swap (but a2sd reports 60MB and uses it *scratch head*) swappiness 30, apps on sd-ext (internal ~28/80MB used) cache on sd cpu at ~740 MHz gallery is slow... Set MAC address app not working (reports inconsistent MAC, will look into it further) no idea about cam freeze bug yet replaced adw with launcher pro (feels a bit faster really) Market working perfectly (( compared to flb 1.7 (used in the last 5 months) feels a lot smoother, with minimal amounts of fc, the former caused at least 5 at startup, and 3-10 at every app install in market :/ )) sometimes gets stuck at "android" at boot but battery removal helps all-in-all a nice and usable rom imo, Thank you (looking for a simple gallery and a simple camera app, should be fast and lightweight) edit: camera not working at all, neither "stock" or FxCamera gives any picture Edited April 25, 2011 by necrologist
Guest h3dshot Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 Reinstall the ROM, this should fix the issue. tried that, did the same thing :)

I've been having problems installing custom roms after having official 2.1 TM UK rom for a while as detailed here. Does your suggestion just install a ROM that fits those partitions or does it correct the partition sizes so any rom can be installed? Do you install all of these through clockworkmod or through the dload folder update route? Thanks
Guest pedrojaime Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Thanks for the Moboplayer media player tip - its a great program althouh its rather large and give an error when run from SD, although it seems to run smoothly from SD all the same and nice interface! Still trying to decide whether to use Doubletwist or Moboplayer. Does anyone get Gapps prompting to select and install google apps on every boot of the phone? Freezing 'Google one time Init' for now to try to get rid of this (using Titanium backup). I love this rom, so stable and almost everything works well for me that I haven't flashed the April 20th version yet. Just wondering, do people recommend taskkill over advanced task killer? Found a good article here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php...on-memory-usage on reducing memory usage. If anyone else has more tips (aside from moving Dalvik cache + apps to SD card), would really love to know. Also SD Increase settings do not seem to stick - guess my sdcard does not support higher read-write speed.. How do I know what class SD card I have? cheers, Peter
Guest freakeao Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 this rom has already final version? if so anyone knows or has some bugs reported esta rom ya tiene version definitiva? de ser asi alguien conoce o ha reportado algun error conocido
Guest pedrojaime Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Official to CyanogenMod7 only (Gnigerbread-based), there are a few bugs (eg camera/video not working) but mostly it is functioning well and almost as fast as Cyanogenmod6 (Froyo-based). I am very pleased with it. It depends if you use your camera a lot, I don't. Don't configure too many screens/transparencies/widgets/animations/live wallpapers or system will run out of memory and will slow down and freeze at times. Pages 22-25 of this thread cover some of the problems people are experiencing with this version. I am very happy with this version though have not tested lates (April 20) release yet.

I'd recommend you make an nandroid backup and upgrade to the April 20th update. The update has increased the battery life on the phone alot compared to the 2nd april release
Guest jeddy1 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Try the UK update. i tried also UK update.that wasnt ok also.i flashed TRE update.that fixed everything!

Guest asec Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 I'm currently running the April 20th update. It's mostly running okay for me. Except - today my headset stopped working for phone calls. For some weird reason after a few calls, it went silent. Well. If I tried to call my other phone and rejected the call, I got a busy tone, but no waiting tone, no audio either way during a call. All other sound works as a charm.. Has any of you had any experience with this too?
Guest totiadrenalin Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) Hey! I create one interesting script, with which you can increase and decrease the memory IO speed. Install this through recovery mode. And after the phone boot up, open the terminal and type sysinfo With that command you will get some interesting and useful informations. If you wan't to increase the memory IO buffers speed type iofix And if you want to reverse the iofix "implementation" type ioreverse. After you implement the iofix, get some SD speedtest tools and test it! On reboot you will not loose the implementation. Best regards TOTI  I Update the script! [Release Notes] Fixed some minor bugs when sometime the script does not read the correct values. This is not some urgent update!IOfix.zipIOFix_v_1.0.1.zip Edited April 28, 2011 by totiadrenalin
