Guest fonix232 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Wait a minute. This is not a limitation of the hardware itself? Because in all specs the device is listed only dualband 900/1200 MHz in UMTS mode. It wasn't enabled in the radio firmware I guess.

Guest mELIANTE Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Dammit, you're the 100th who asks this... HSUPA, official Froyo, no CM. Those are the benefits for now. Also themes work with SS! I wouldn't say that is a benefit :D
Guest bhf Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Well, that would be interesting. Anyone knows, if the GSM frequency 850 MHz was also enabled? So this device could be universally used in the Americas?

The V880 is the Chinese version of the Blade with 256MB of RAM, while the X880 is the Libra, what IS NOT the Blade. Yep, similar phones, but Blade =/= Libra!

Is ist technically possible to - let's say - port this new, improved RIL into other Custom ROMs, especially CyanogenMod 7?
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 CM7 N33 up and running on my Gen2! :D Just replace the two libs and boot.img with the attached ones in the install-zip before installing. Keep in mind that this is the Swedish Spring RLS4 kernel compiled for VMSPLIT_3G and it does not have exactly the same setup as Toms CM7 kernel so there may be some quirks... But it's a start!cm7_n33_gen2_files.zip

Guest kallt_kaffe Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 m8, you rock!!!!! So far the built in overclocking cannot see the supported speeds and USB mounting doesn't seem to work. Propably caused by the fact that my kernel is not identical to the CM7 one. But as I said, it's a start.

But as I said, it's a start. still awesome! tested and all working well (apart from the above). kk, it would be great to have a 148m partition option, as \cache under CM7 is wasted and 128m is not enough to include all gapps into the system partition. thanks again!

Guest Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 K.K you really are the man now all blades can be up to date does the blade even have any limits ? maybe they should of called it ZTE INVINCIBLE !

Guest Frankish Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Just read this full thread and i'm in awe at the pace of this. So in summary we now have, Gen1 > Gen 2 ability, Gen2 > Gen 1 ability, Mostly working cm7 for Gen2, Obviously already SS another Gen2 rom :D
Guest jmm82 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Works great with finnish saunalahti blade (+SS RLS4b). Only problem is this, it shows that is roaming and old saunalahti_ril fix wont work. If you use that fix it wont connect any network. If somebody can fix that i´m reeeaally happy!

Well yes the old fix won't work, as the new radio needs new ril libraries.

Saunalahti sells phones with 2.2 now. You need to get /system/lib/libril-qc-1.so and perhaps also (but propably not) libcm.so from one of these phones.
Guest Maringer Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Is Seb around at all? I believe that he lives across the pond so may be interested in the ability to unlock the new frequency on an older Blade. If the (early) reports of better reception are true, I'll have to look into this myself! Quite incredible to watch the speed of the progress being made with this stuff.

Propably caused by the fact that my kernel is not identical to the CM7 one. But as I said, it's a start. Here's an updated package. USB mounting works now. Overclocking works with No-frills CPU Control (and most likely also with SetCPU). Working great here. EDIT: I'm now quite certian that USB mounting worked in the first version aswell. It seems USB mounting doesn't work if the phone boots with USB connected but a disconnect/reconnect makes it work again.cm7_n33_gen2_files.zip Edited April 2, 2011 by kallt_kaffe
Guest oh!dougal Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Just read this full thread and i'm in awe at the pace of this. Its incredible! :D Well done - but what are you planning for the rest of the week-end? :D B) ;) :D
Guest Jekle Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Ok, dropped together a little flashing package for beginners, thanks goes to mrradmir for his modified download.exe! This one will make you able to flash Gen2 easily (Gen1 armprg.bin is NOT included! DO NOT flash Gen1 TPT with this!). Usage: - Extract Flasher.zip - Copy your TPT into ./files (all mbn and img files) - Run download.exe and follow the instructions shown there Will this work with the TeliaSonera files?
Guest jmm82 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 I doubt that HSUPA is enabled i dont get any more upload speed than 0.35mbps.
