There's so much mixed information about how to solve this.

If anyone's been successful, I could really use some help.

I'm a total novice here but what I do know is that I'm rooted.

I flashed a few different roms, only Leedroid and this one here seemed to work:

http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...n/#entry1656275

I haven't been able to access Wi-Fi since I flashed.

Whenever I tap it, the box refuses to tick and the word "Error" appears underneath.

This is ruining my existence, so any help greatly appreciated.

Under software information it reads:

Android Version

2.2

Baseband Version

12.28b.60.140eu_26.03.02.26_M

Kernel Version

2.6.32.21-g66cfb7a

Build Number

1.32.405.6 CL278359 release keys

Software Number

1.32.405.6

Browser version

Webkit 3.1

I had this too. Only way I could resolve was to send the phone back to HTC under warranty. The problem occured after I uninstalled Boingo Wireless app.

I followed the guides here Updating to 1-72-405-6 and updated to the latest ROM with no problem.

There is a step which mentions flashing the kernel again because the rom update breaks wifi.

Did you wipe your phone before flashing? Have you tried going back to your original ROM?

Hey Daz555,

I'm not actually sure.

I followed a guide from the unlockr.

What I think has roughly happened is that I've somehow flashed something with no S off and perhaps it has the incorrect radio for the rom?

Having said that though, I'm not entirely sure of much.

Things I do know are that:

I'm rooted

I have S on

I have adb set up and functional

What's on my phone now does not appear to be the original rom because all of the stock factory apps / widgets are no longer there

In "About phone" my phone tells me it's software number: 1.32.405.6

When I use the RUU files, they tell me it's the incorrect version, they tell me my phone is 1.32.861.5, however I cannot find the correct RUU exe for this software number

I didn't manage to make any backups before I began the process, however I found this:

Ace_Hutchison-Three-Network_AU_1.32.861.5_Radio_12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M_Clockwork-BACKUP

Another fellow posted this, which by all accounts appears to be my phone's original factory ROM

It's basically a bunch of .img files, which I'm not sure how to install

I've tried downloading a couple of the RUU files, (the exe ones) as I've seen people in other threads with similar non wifi issues have success with this.

When I try to install however, it always seems to be the wrong RUU.

If anyone could post some tips I would be hugely appreciative.

Kind regards,

- Ric

Is it just me or does that page no longer exist?

Hey guys, I actually got this sorted today by enabling S-on.

I don't know why but the only guide which allowed me to successfully do this was this one here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835746

Thanks for your interest.

Kind regards,

- Ric
