Guest dandroidme Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 ... but then I downloaded the new version of SD tools and my speed seems to have gone slow again ? That's because the SD tools app developer has removed a couple of the more schoolboy mistakes from his speed test algorithm and it's getting closer to producing an accurate measurement for typical file system usage now. There's still a couple of things he needs to do then everyone can go back to a more appropriately sized read-ahead buffer. (ducks again) d.
Guest Ron=) Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 My speeds went down. What's all that about? Try a different cache size.
Guest dandroidme Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Try a different cache size. Unlikely to work. What fibblesan is almost certainly seeing is the detremental effect this mod will have on access times once the storage media passes a difficult to predict threshold related to file fragmentation and usable free space. (ducks once more) d.
