Guest klei Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 Hi, referring to a thread on xdadevelopers: Has anyone managed to increase the read_ahead_kb value on the vega for better SD Card performance?
Guest Lennyuk Posted April 7, 2011 Report Posted April 7, 2011 We do not have the same file structure as the fix on xda
Guest warwound Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 (edited) SD Increase from the market works on my Vega (MCR r8) but the setting doesn't survive a reboot. warwound Edited April 8, 2011 by warwound
Guest klei Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 SD Increase from the market works on my Vega (MCR r8) but the setting doesn't survive a reboot. warwound Did you test the settings with "SD Tools"? Do the results change after setting the kb-value with SD Increase?
Guest warwound Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Did you test the settings with "SD Tools"? Do the results change after setting the kb-value with SD Increase? Yes and yes! SD Tools shows the expected higher data transfer rates. Just set the cache size with SD Increase and click the button and the setting is instantly applied until next reboot. warwound

Guest warwound Posted April 13, 2011 Report Posted April 13, 2011 An update for anyone thinking about trying this... SD Increase now has an option 'Set every boot' - all self explanatory lol. So no need for any Vega specific script to set the cache size - SD Increase now does it all! warwound
