O2 UK with an iphone tariff.

Ta.

Does anyone know how the negotiations for this work? Is there a handshaking session during which the phone has to assert its capabilities or anything?

FWIW I've got a relatively new TFT B10, it's about a month old.

UK, four networks tested so far, T-mobile, Orange, Three and giffgaff.

At least it works for someone!

How old is your phone? Is it OLED or TFT?

yes, the speed of mobile internet depending at first on the number of concurrent users of cellular transmitting towers.

the bandwidth of a tower is fix every time and every day.

nighttime = much less concurent user = more bandwith per user

would you say HSUPA i working on my "gen 2" and is it possible to get more then 2Mbps.

i think i might need to phone tmobile and ask if i have HSUPA enabled because wen i sighed up 4 my contract i was on internet booster which was capped at 300kbps. then HSDPA was enabled for me after i companied. so mayb i might have to get HSUPA enabled....

U in HSUPA (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) means Upload, and D in HSDPA means Download

in Hungary Vodafone have 1,45 Mbps max speed HSUPA network. the fastest HSUPA networks you can find in Japan as I know, max speed is 5,7 Mbps

HSUPA have no effect to your download speed at all

and one more thing: HSUPA at Vodafone enabled just for users with monthly internet contract.

i have a 2 GB/month contract

but every provider in every country have different contractual conditions

it's a good idea to check yours

No HSUPA for me either. Did the Gen2 update a few hours ago, but no luck. I tried both Comviq and TeliaSonera amss/libs.

Can anyone who has it working post their Channel1.nvm? Note that this file contains your IMEI, so if you don't want the whole world to know it, PM me and I'll tell you how to remove it.

I would call your network and make sure that they support HSUPA.

Even if they do, there is not guarantee that your local cell tower or region has been upgraded yet.

I know my network supports it. I put my SIM in a different phone and it worked just fine. There has to be something different about the Blade, and my hope is that it's just a radio configuration setting.

Unfortunately, my Blade just broke in a completely unrelated way (vertical black stripes covering 2/3 of the screen, probably a broken connector or cable somewhere), so I can't do any more testing until I get a replacement.

Sure, but for those that have whipped these SIMs out of their OSFs and into a different phone and got HSUPA right away we can assume that question's been answered more thoroughly than the "do these updates enable HSUPA on the OSF" one.

I've now tried RLS4 as well as RLS4b and neither of them is enabling HSUPA.

I flashed the Gen 2 original partitions update from here:

http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...2-windows-only/

AFAIK that uses the Comviq amss.mbn, so in theory it should work with the RLS4 Comviq ril libs, but uplink stubbornly stays ~ 350 kb/s.

I pop my Three SIM into my GT540 and bingo, HSUPA works. It's consistently fast (4000 kb/s down, 1500 kb/s up, sub 100 ms ping), so I don't think I've got a problem with the signal.

I'm stumped.

which apn is the lg gt540 using?

the new japanese 2.2 rom has new amss.mbn going to test that as well

I've got no other modems to test with my SIM, but after a Gen2 upgrade my Blade does not achieve HSUPA speeds. The coverage maps for my network all indicate that the network supports HSUPA. I have a OLED UK Blade and my provider is TPG in Australia, which uses the Optus 3g 900/2100Mhz UMTS network.

Push - is there nobody who got HSUPA with the Gen2 update who would be willing to share Channel1.nvm for some experimentation?

Just run set of tests after updating to gen2 SS (was original OSF gen 1 which was running stable cynogen - not so stable!)

I found that the results hugely differ. I tried running test sat at desk with phone plugged into pc (but not mounted) and i was getting download/upload rates of less than 300kps.... moved closer to window (about 4 foot) and unplugged and score rocketed to 2326 download with 364 upload.. tried it few more times and scores still massively fluctuate.

It does seem to affect scores though if USB is plugged in.

Give it a try guys and see what happens. Also would be interested to know if you get consistent scores

The best tests are outside and if possible to see the cell tower or get as good signal as possible. And if possible nights like 2-3-4 AM so that the network is not used (as users share the bandwidth in the same cell). Gonna upgrade soon to Gen.2 when I get some time and do some tests before and after.

I've got one of those new Comviq gen2 editions. It's my first Android and I didn't think of testing HSUPA before reflashing to SS RLS4b. Testing with bredbandskollen (a Swedish speed test) I've never got over 150 kb/s on the Blade. Using my Nokia with the same card in the same location I get about 500 kb/s.
