Xscope Browser - default pdf viewer error message

When I try to open a pdf document from inside the Xscope browser I get the error message "Failed to open a default viewer".

Googling this shows it to be a common problem but I cannot find a definitive answer. Is this just a bug that cannot be fixed or is there a way to set up a default pdf view in android?

I have both Adobe Reader and ezPDF loaded on the Vega

If this cannot be fixed, is there another browser that let you view pdf pages without downloading them for later viewing?

dolphin hd has a pdf add on that it says allows you to open pdf files without leaving your browser but to be honest i havent tried it :)
