Trying to get cifs/samba shares working.

Got kernel support / cifs manager but failing to ping anyone. Edit -works on one wireless network but if switching to another ping stops.

It seems routing tables might get stale some where but guessing.

Also anyone got nfs shares running yet? Not sure if rpc bind and other services are running.

Any ideas?

Take me to your leader you are clearly not from this planet :) Only kidding ... did you check this topic out yet ? There are quite a few topics with cifs posts in them but if you are really stuck after you've checked them out come back and raise a new post and word things a little simpler for the rest of us Earthlings. Cheers

Sorry for the confusing post :)

Firstly, managed cifs mounting ok.

Its that i have two wireless networks in my house. the first network i connect to, everything works ok but if i change network (different subnet / network name) i cant ping / network with machines on that network. STRANGE behaviour.

The other problem is nfs mounting, anyone getting it working yet. Looking at some other android devices - we might need rpc, lockd module support. So without going into compiling new modules etc. Just hoping sumone has already got this working.

Cheers

No probs.

For your wireless problem I suggest you do a search for "wifi channel" as there are several topics which have suggestions on how to fix it including this one. On the NFS front this topic might help. Remember the search facility on this site is pretty good in normal or advanced mode :)
