Search for the video ' How to root an android phone' by gigafide on youtube.
Guest Underdog2k9 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Since you have 2.1 you can root it via an App called z4root. Download z4root Unpack it and put the apk on your sd card, install it via filemanger and run z4root. Click on permanent root and be happy. (Your phone has to be plugged at usb with developing on)

Guest new123 Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 http://michabilbang.de/root.zip either click on that, or copy and paste that address into your broser and then save the file onto your computer. Once you have done that, unzip the file and you will see a file called z4root.1.3.0.apk. Copy this file from your computer onto the SD card in your phone. Then on your phone use a file manager such as astro to install the app (make sure you have unkown sources checked in application settings) Ive used z4root on my GT540 with android 2.1 and it worked without any problems.
Guest claude1912 Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Hello there! I've upgrade my gt540 from 1.6 to 2.1 update 1. (info:kernel 2.6.29 sf v20b, dec-15-2010). With fw. 1.6 using universal androot tool, I had root rights and superuser. Now, with new firmware I've trouble to root my phone. I've tried, without success, z4root, universal androot and superoneclick with usb debug option set to on: nothing happens! I've also to upgrade the device using kdz.... Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.
