Guest newbe5 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 CM7 accelerometer DOES work perfectly without the autorotate widget, this is what spurred me on to actually fix it in 2.2, but CM7 doesn NOT have mouse support, which is something we want to make sure also works (although you do need a reboot) in Corvus5. The Mouse/Game switcher should be perfected soon as currently it is a little buggy. This is something else that will be fixed in SP1
Guest the_corvus Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 In relation to the BT/Wifi issue there's a thread already discussing it but nothing conclusive at the moment : - http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...tooth-speakers/ I read the full thread... and i think is a problem with bluetooth stack in android. Is bad designed and they doesnt spend many time on it, so there is always problems with BT. I dont have any BT speakers (only a handsfree with is not a A2DP and can send music to it) so no way to test (i will try with a PC, but i'm not sure it will work). It can be too a hardware related problem, because the bt chips in iPhone, Galaxy and Vega (by example) could not be the same... This is really a problem hard to fix. Corvus.
Guest warriorscot Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 I cant hear any distortion but the problem with sound is that it doesn't increases after 50% it just stays the same. Thats really more of an error analogous to a typo the max volume is restricted(EU regulations is the main cause) and its really just the value displayed isn't correct so what you see as 50% should really be 100% in the latest advent firmware they increased it so it displayed to 80% before topping out before it maxes out but the actual output level shouldn't have increased above the maximum legal rating. What happens with some people is that the device outputs what it thinks should be the maximum decibel output but that output isnt constant it will vary depending on the device(speakers/headphones) and when they calibrated/set that output level they used whatever they had as the base level. So in order to change that the output level would have to be changed the question is where that level is stored and if its limited by hardware or software. Also its worht noting that technically altering the maximum output would be illegal if it resulted in the levels going above the legal max.

The 1.10 80/100% max fix is the one that has now been ported to Corvus5 (well, it will be once we release it ). But that issue is fixed. I am looking at a way to boost max volume, but tbh I don't have any issues with it, it is plenty loud enough for me.

Thanks for having a look, didn't think it would be an easy one to sort out and as you say may even be a hardware problem which can't be resolved. Hopefully some bright spark can do something with the bluetooth stack to make things better

In a quiet room it is fine, but it is inadequate in other situations - e.g. if you are trying to watch / listen to BBC iPlayer in the kitchen while extractor fans are going, a kettle is boiling etc.
Guest mwnciflewog Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Hi I posted in another thread earlier in the week about a problem I'm having with Corvus5. I can flash the zip no problem but in Sd and storage settings page the message unmounting in progress is constantly displayed. Ive tried a different sd card and starting from scratch, reformating the card etc. I only get this problem with this rom, VegaN and CM7 are ok. Any suggestions? P.S I do a full wipe before flashing. Thanks

Thanks The card is mounted, the text is there saying unmount in progress but it is dimmed, it lights up if you press it and then performs the unmount. Check your SD card in file manager, I am sure you will find it is there  Great Rom btw guys, I have now been using for a couple of weeks and have to say it is superb, slight issue with the battery indicator not updating (even after calibration) but that is only a small niggle, performance with the o/clock is superb. Beers on the way to you both today :o
Guest ptbw Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Thank you very much for this! Works great on my Ganbarou V0.3 ROM with the CorvusKernel 0.2! Is it ok if I integrate it into the next version of my ROM? No problem, please do.
Guest Ste_B Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Not seeing much battery improvement here and still seeing the phone application. What did I do wrong/miss?
Guest MaxiP Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Been running this ROM since release (including Corvus 0.2) and amy only criticism is ..........actually nothing !! Superb bit of coding guys and the only thing I would change (at this stage) would be a boot into HOST rather than SLAVE. Apart from that, excellent and beer tokens on their way

I get a kernel with host mode by default in one of mu multiple test kernels, but i cant reproduce it now... :o. So it can be done, and it will be done possibly in the next CorvusKernel version. Corvus.
Guest stevesilk51 Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Corvus, Just an idea, but pop over to tabletroms.com. MRGUY has done some work for the NI Adam on HC and has posted the image files. Maybe you can do something for the Vega with them?
Guest chugglet Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I've had my Vega for a little over a week now. When I bought it I had already been trawling these forums to see what could be done with it so I had a fair idea what to expect. I wanted a tablet that would allow me to install apps and games, browse the internet and use flash player. I flashed it with Pauls ROM the day I got it and was impressed with the features (Market etc.) and the speed. It also now does everything I want. I read through all the posts in this thread yesterday and decided that I would give Corvus5 a go. I'm very glad I did! After backing up using Titanium, I installed the ROM using Clockwork. It worked perfectly. I then restored everything and with the exception of YouTube, all my apps reinstalled perfectly. Even my LauncherPro Plus settings reinstalled so my icons and widgets were in exactly the same place. I then used SetCPU to overclock/make best use of the processor. I had already taken a score using Smart Bench 2011 of the standard ROM before overclocking and that came out at around the 1900-2100 mark. My Vega now clocked this morning at 4236!!! The ROM is fast, stable, smooth & (apart from the keyboard, personal preference) good looking!! I have not had any of the teething troubles that others have had which may be because (as advised) I read through the forum!! It took a while for me to get my head around the OS as I work as an IT Technician and the way Windows works is ingrained in to me and to make things more confusing, I use a MAC at home. But I got there in the end!! So what I really wanted to say in this long winded way is thank you to Corvus & Newbe5 for their outstanding work on this ROM & any future updates they provide and the support they provide to people like me. Cheers guys!
Guest fusiondroid Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 OK so quick update and a request to all users to please remind me of issues that need fixing! The current state of SP1 is as follows: Kernel updated to latest by Corvus (including 1.5ghz overclock and no need for setcpu txt file any more) Blue Camera LED Fixed (thanks to new kernel) 50% volume issue fixed, volume now increases all the way to 100% USB Mode check widget added to /data/app as standard Titanium Backup added to /data/app as standard (as requested by some users) This is what is confirmed so far, there is some other (nice) stuff in the works too, but I will hold off on that until I am sure it will work. Can anyone please suggest fixes that need attending to? NOTE: "I Can't install this ROM, because of problem a/b/c or USB issue bleh..." is not what I mean.... am asking for actual BUGS or issues people have found? newbe5 The 216mhz bug is a bit annoying. Keeps setting clock speed to 216mhz which makes it unusable when waking from sleep. Not sure what is causing it but would be great ifyou could try and replicate/fix. Many many thanks for all your hard work. You have a really great osrom on your hands here!
Guest jegupi Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Thanks forma this rom, very good one, nave noticed setcpu nave no scaling options with this rom, could it be posible adding in a future one?
Guest meehog Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 I'm another person having a problem using wi-fi and bluetooth together, I bought some bluetooth headphones for watching 4od, iplayer etc, but it's impossible, again both work independently without any trouble. I also found information suggesting it's hardware related, (wi-fi & BT on the same antenna?) and maybe changing wi-fi channels would help, but that didn't work for me. I don't suppose a bluetooth adapter would be able to work with this rom would it? If it would, I'd buy one, that may be a good workaround, but don't want to pay for one if there's no chance of it working.
Guest tabor56 Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 I was wondering, would it be possible to release a version of this ROM that has the dock on the bottom like CM7? I like the idea of the bottom dock bar but this ROM is a lot smoother
Guest tdmanutd Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Hi, I want to report something, IDK if it's bug or not. But in my devices using this ROM, sometimes the battery level didn't show the right number. In one case, i charged it until 100% and when i used it, it still shows as 100% until the red light from LED shows up (which mean the battery empty). It's a minor problem, though. The ROM's speed and stability was too good.

Guest Snowdan Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 For everyone using the USB Host feature of this excellent ROM, I have produced a Grid "Special Edition" version of the Host Mode Indicator. Thanks to newbe5 for the graphics and simonta for the original idea. Note if you really want to change the graphics for some of your own you can by putting images on your SD card as follows: For the small widget /sdcard/data/vegausbindicator/susbs.png /sdcard/data/vegausbindicator/susbh.png For the large widget /sdcard/data/vegausbindicator/usbs.png /sdcard/data/vegausbindicator/usbh.png The apk can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/ptbw-codespace/do...deindicator.apk Thanks to newbe5 and Corvus for such a good ROM. newbe5 if I had one request for the SP it would if you could change the way the rotate widget worked to be similar to what ptbw has done here. I had swapped to they honeycomb theme and back to grid but in orange it would be great if themes could colour code these 2 to match. I understand that this is all done off your own back and I hate to impose, if easier and you are so inclined if you release the code I'm sure I or someone smarter than me here could do the work. Thanks for the rom the themes and also the videos they helped me pick the vega. Snowdan
Guest iceman_ Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Hi I have been using this rom for a couple of days now. It's cool, great rom, but it has some glitches that can be solved. Today I had some free time and I have made this patch to solve some of them. This will fix:Sound bar bug (no more 50% max)Google voice services (no more force stop)Better touchscreen (check pointer location)Better flash support and better web experienceDevice should be a little bit more smotherHere you can find the Patch file To install it just put the file in your sdcard and flash it with CWM PS: The benefits are subjective but there should be an improvement, post your experience. PS2: It also works for modaco-r8
Guest comicbookguy Posted May 8, 2011 Report Posted May 8, 2011 Hi All! Ran Pauls ROM for about a month after running stock 1.09 for about 5 mins  and was very happy with it had HUGE issues with with ADB drivers on Win7 x64, but sorted using Nook Color driver package been running this amazing ROM with LauncherPro (means i can use less home screens with more icons on each) for about a fortnight now and love it- finally a working G-sensor and a nice theme! i've even bought a dock!!!!! just a couple of things tho.... (not sure if they're Rom related and am wondering if anyone has similar issues) 1- about one boot out of three the touchscreen doesn't work, so i have to hard reboot to get it to work ? 2- the only mouse i've tried is locked on portrait mode (not good when it's docked in landscape...), wont' go any further than 2/3 of the way across the screen, and doesn't have either button working 3- i'm getting a more artefacts with flash content than with Paul's rom (both with flash 10.2) other than than, awesome!
