Guest iceman_ Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 This does not work on R8... I put it into recovery, installed the update-patch zip file and no difference, the only difference is now my gallery loads up alot slower and the sound stays the same. Well the sound should be fixed and also the screen should be better (I said better not a new device it still has some problems). The r8 is not the same base system so it can be a little less smoother (it may require some tweaks). What about web experience? It also should be better. I have not tested it on r8 that is the reason why is posted here. Since this is not the place to discuss it contact me in private if you want to try something more suited to r8.

Guest partner2 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 I've just noted than the bluetooth address has changed. It was a full adress when I was in the stock rom and now it has a lot of 0's. Bluetooth is working, so I won't care.
Guest je72 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 1) search the forum, the solution is here 2) Read the thread, the solution is here 3) No solution for this more that come back to Flash 10.1 (search the forum) Corvus I love this ROM! I ran Pauls rom for the 1st few weeks, which was an enormous improvent on stock, the corvus rom improved on this still. I am however having a problem that others have highlighted: mouse locked in potlrtrait mode. I have spent days trying to sort it out. I am not familiar with scripting or executing command line instructions. However I have perservered, because I kept reading that the solutions were in the forum. Not wanting to waste anyones time (and look srupid) I withheld asking for help until now. I have managed to work out why the mouse mode checker command that corvus mentioned didn't work. This is due to a typo in the original post. In connectbot the 1st command tries to execute a file called MouseModeChecker.sh but I when I checked the directory that the command points to, I found that the actual command is MouseModeCheck.sh (no er on the end of check). It confirmed that I had sucessfully executed the 2nd command and that the vega was in mouse mode. However the problem remains. Any ideas what else I could be doing wrong?

Unfortunately the MouseModeCheck and MouseGameSwitcher were bugged in the first release of the ROM (sorry!) this will be fixed in SP1 when we release it (along wit some other things). MUCH apologies for this, but we are stretched pretty thin right now  If you want to manually switch to mouse mode instead of accelerometer mode, you can use the following command: adb remount adb shell mv /system/lib/libsurfaceflinger_client.so /system/lib/libsurfaceflinger_client.so.GAME mv /system/lib/libsurfaceflinger_client.so.MOUSE /system/lib/libsurfaceflinger_client.so reboot[/code] After reboot, you will be in Mouse mode, but the accelerometer will no longer work correctly for Games! Hope that helps! newbe5
Guest RicardoP Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Loving this rom but I have a small problem. I keep on getting "Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card" everytime i want to install something from the market.
Guest Zarjaz Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) Been using Corvus5 since day 1, with no problems. Today i added a few mp3s. The music app cannot fine these audio files. I tried folders called music, audio, media, etc. Nothing shows. I can play the files if i use the file manager to select them. But i want the albums to show in the app! Tried downloading winamp. Still no audio files show. I do not have any .noaudio set Ideas? Edited to say i downloaded PowerAmp, which has option to set and scan any folder. This worked fine! Edited May 10, 2011 by Zarjaz

You need to go in to devtools and tap media scanner this will make android search your device !

Guest Panayioti Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Hi I have been using this rom for a couple of days now. It's cool, great rom, but it has some glitches that can be solved. Today I had some free time and I have made this patch to solve some of them. This will fix:Sound bar bug (no more 50% max)Google voice services (no more force stop)Better touchscreen (check pointer location)Better flash support and better web experienceDevice should be a little bit more smotherHere you can find the Patch file To install it just put the file in your sdcard and flash it with CWM PS: The benefits are subjective but there should be an improvement, post your experience. PS2: It also works for modaco-r8 This works amazingly thanks a lot!!
Guest RicardoP Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 I went into clockwork mod and deleted the cache , rebooted and games installed Just tried what you sugested but still getting the same error. Driving me crazy!

Please guys detailed noob proof instructions on how to flash this rom to my vega thanks in advance guys! try doing it through cwm not rom manager it may help, download cwm and recovery to your vega using vega tools, then click the recovery app in mcr8 rom which will put your vega into cwm. here you can wipe your caches, factory reset etc, dalvik, then install zip from sd card and select the corvus5 zip wherever you stored it and cwm should do the rest. once it has finished flashing just select reboot and see what happens. the first time i flashed corvus i did it this way and it went fine, i now use rom manager since it updated and it all works fine that way too. good luck

Guest RicardoP Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Still got the same problem  I dont know what else to try but to flash the rom again and start off fresh. Any body have another idea?
Guest wellibob Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 I'd thought I would give Corvus 5 rom a go, but at the last moment it throws a reason 7 error something to do with the sdcard and boot. Downloaded the Rom several times and same thing. Can install mc8 zip from sdcard no problems via cwm. ??????

The apps that force close are com.android.provider.calendar and com.android.calendar problem solved: I have experienced with the Android Application QtADB and Android Commander, the every experience has allowed you access to the tablet Files, and without having any idea of what direction I deleted them Dalvik Files cache and the APK that named like google calendar or calendar. And I copied the same named APK Along the rom zip Corvus5. When restart at last it works well and the google calendar Force Close or not when you open it or to upgrade it. Starting with Me is to taste the flexibility of Android, and good moments to try the goodness of rum corvus5, all well and with setcpu. How many you put in recomended MHz CPU stand for a couple of hours with seguidas 3d games?
