FM radio was a notorious battery drainer in all froyos, so I guess, you will reevaluate your decision to use RDS radio. :)

These kernels will NOT work with other ROMs as they are VMSPLIT_3G and all other ROMs, except CM7 is VMSPLIT_2G. Sorry to be sounding pedantic but you did say CM7 is VMSPLIT_2G - that is not true.... :) :)

Yes, always install the converter directly after installing the ROM! Because the converter changes the kernel so that it can be used with Gen.1 Search function is available in this thread ;-)
