Guest allmac07 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Thanks, can't get past this gen 1 or gen 2 without downloading something and frightened of ruining the phone. Can anyone simplify this for a genuine novice? Thanks you should be able to access internet on wifi if you have it without 3gs operational go to menu/settings/wireless and network tick the box marked wifi then enter wifi settings your wifi should show in here connect then download the app to check what gen you have

Thanks The wifi has found my Virgin and is asking for a password to connect. I don't normally use one on my laptop or pc and don't remember setting one up. Can anyone advise? Should I contact Virgin?

Should I contact Virgin? try four zeros or some variation of 1234 if you have not changed the password yourself default passwords tend not to be to complicated just had a quick google try password as the pass if not have a look at the bottom of your router apparently some have it printed there Edited May 4, 2011 by allmac07

Tried all these and the one under the set. No luck. I rung Virgin and they won't help because, although its their router, I didn't buy it directly from them. Its a netgear and I bought it on EBay Thanks, can anyone help? Cheers

Cheers most of the NETGEAR devices, except ReadyNAS products and Fully Managed switches, have the following default username and password: Username = admin Password = password For older devices, password = 1234 If you have changed the default password and have forgotten it, you will need to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings in order to use the default username and password. Guest Elgreco77 Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Many thanks thanks, tried password, which is what it says under the router, and 1234, I get " secured with WPa/WPA2 PSK" then " on password " remembered" but then password is not correct. I'm worried about restoring the default as both laptop and pc work fine and I don't want to lose them. Thanks
