Guest Yogiman! Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 Hi all I don't want to start any long running discussion on this but. I know z4root shows up as a virus/malware with AV. Everyone says it is not a virus. OK I believe you..... But. Last night I installed this, rooted my phone, everything went fine. This afternoon I get a message left on my voice mail from some woman saying she was phoning about the text message I had left on her phone. I had not sent this woman a text message, I know this because there is no evidence of the message in my phone. Is there something going on here, has anyone else had this? Thanks Yogiman!

It's very weird. My brother rooted his GT540 with Z4Root and had no problems. This may be some other virus on your phone, which isn't caused by Z4Root. Guest mixlis Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) State: Z4root is software made for android.Android and windows are different ,obviously u cant run natively *.exe files on android, nor *.apk on windows. (1) Your antivirus , avira, is a software tool for detecting viruses made only for windows . So ,even your avira can now detect viruses for android and found that Z4root is a virus, is a virus only for android(and there arent any really viruses(trojans) on android cause when u install sth , it always asks and displays applications permittions.), not for windows. Although, someone may think, ok inside z4root.apk there is hidden a windows worm(virus) . But from (1) this make no sense , the worm cannot be activated. I think that because google banned z4root from market , avira says its a virus  Now for the messages, next time u should watch twice the permissions needed when u install non-market apps.
