Flawless on the Galaxy S II. Thank you, this made my day!

Hi,

I will be buying the Gs2 next week, can you confirm that even though you installed it successfully, have you managed to test it without any glitch like hearing and seeing the other party and vice versa?

Cheers

Has anyone tried this on the Galaxy S?

On Darky's 10.1 after installing the APK, selecting Google Video Talk Installer, and having the app grant superuser and restart the phone - there are no changes to Talk. Can we get this installed manually?

Hello,

I installed the APK and it works but it is locked in to the rear camera.

the user on the other side does not see the video from the mobile.

Voice is good.

Samsung Galaxy 7 P1000

running 2.3.3 where the camera issue should have been resolved :P

Oh the Galaxy S is the same exact device except smaller. ;)

Voila....

It will take months before Samsung puts out the 2.3.4 update.... Excellent job... But if we could get this camera issue resolved. It would be perfect

Thanks for your wonderful work Paul, now I have video call using gtalk on my news SGS 2 rooted with the latest Eu stock Rom, and the apk worked fine but just after enabling Usb Debug Mode as you have written on first page.

I notice that even after wipe the gtalk app is the newer one installed by the Paul apk.

@Paul: The only issue is a gtalk crash switching from front camera to rear camera. I tried it several times and it always crash, do you think is possible to fix it?

Installed it on Samsung Galaxy S 2.3.3 (JV9 with SpeedMod kernel/rooted)

can make video call but the video image is locked to capture from the rear camera only

any solution to enable the VGA camera in front for video capture..?

thanks

Hi,

it didn't work on my Galaxy S.

When I first installed it, it wiped the Google Talk application and google account settings (expected).

Then I started Talk application and re-entered account settings. But I couldn't see any difference in the application. No video options.

So, I tried to install again. In this second install phone went into a boot loop after first reboot.

Now I have to install everything from zero. too bad.

If you have Galaxy S with 2.3.3 Gingerbread, don't try this.

Thanks for your hard work!

BTW, you may want to add a reminder: After installed, Google account will be wiped, you have to add and sync Google account once again.

Otherwise, people might be scared at some point. (lol)

Tried on ZTE Blade, neither voice or video chat are working. Video chat option not even shows up. If I start voice call, it just starts thinking but nothing happens.

A fix would be really appreciated.

Im pretty sure it will only work on arm7 devices which unfortunately the blade is not :(
