Guest Njazza Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 I tried to reinstall the rom, and it got the same result I was connecting to a AP that's WPA2, however, it is connecting & showing "obtaining..." but then, nothing connected and it continued to reconnect I am just updating the rom from 3.1 > 4. Did you read the small print? :D "to update or change versions : wipe dalvik (in advanced), wipe cache, format system (in mounts and storage)"

Same, I was on V3.1. did you allow Google to back up your wlan settings ? on the Google apps install it puts those settings back in I think.
Guest worminfo Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Did you read the small print? :D "to update or change versions : wipe dalvik (in advanced), wipe cache, format system (in mounts and storage)" of course I did it...

Looking into it, seems some nightly users are having the same problem ....
Guest worminfo Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Looking into it, seems some nightly users are having the same problem .... I have allowed Google to back up the wlan settings, however, disallow the backup settings doesn't change my result. :D My phone is Oled version, mod to gen 2 (without using universal converter) maybe now I flash back to 3.1, because, for me, wifi is more important than gps, camera... :D
Guest Psyloid Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) For those who have Wlan problems, fix = change the DHCP lease time in your router to whatever as long as its not infinite or default, 24 hrs for example is a good lease time, if you don't know how to do this, go back to V3.1 untill CM team finds a fix Edited June 7, 2011 by Psyloid
Guest Saibotic Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Thanks for this, will install it asap. :D Just wondering what happens when you wipe Dalvik? I've never done it before, is it necessary? Anyone?
Guest Psyloid Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Anyone? it wipes the jit cache, wiping traces of redundant data cache, its not a must, more good practice doesnt affect data or settings
Guest Saibotic Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 it wipes the jit cache, wiping traces of redundant data cache, its not a must, more good practice doesnt affect data or settings Allright, thanks for your answer! :D But formatting the system (in mounts and storage), does that affect anything / is it still necessary?
Guest Nudnik_de Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 I get the same problem, too :D can't get ip from ap, although my wireless router is near by... +1
Guest Utakos Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Market is working on the phone but when I view or try to add apps via my market account on the web it says that I do not have a phone linked to the account?
Guest Just Wondering Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 brilliant I went from Swedish to v4 and it appears to be working a treat ty
Guest ag0n Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Just moved from v3.1 to v4 and had no problems at all with wireless connection. But just for the record, i did a full wipe. Ran Quadrant and got a lower score. From 925 to 841 ;) Could you implement the "host files" that block ads at next update? Thanks for the rom update and all the work you have done so far.
Guest Amphoras Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Allright, thanks for your answer! ;) But formatting the system (in mounts and storage), does that affect anything / is it still necessary? The rom gets installed to system, so formatting system makes sure there's not any bits of the old rom left over. Its not always essential, but it can probably avoid some problems. As Psyloid has said to do it, I would do so.

Guest Njazza Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Could you implement the "host files" that block ads at next update? I've been using Android AdFree, that modifies etc/hosts -file. It'd be great if it was included, but you can get it from market anyways. ;)
Guest Just Wondering Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 can someone confirm this? yes that is what I did
Guest sticko Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Just installed this (many thanks) it works a treat, quick question though and maybe a silly one???? Is there any way of speeding up the boot time from when you turn the phone on to the time it takes to start using it?, i think i remember seeing something to do it but cant remember what it was. Thanks in advance for any help ;)
Guest Psyloid Posted June 8, 2011 Report Posted June 8, 2011 Allright, thanks for your answer! ;) But formatting the system (in mounts and storage), does that affect anything / is it still necessary? Its very important that you do, it wont affect anything data related
