Guest stuartmc Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 very weird, its rooted for me Update on not rooted. Reinstalled V5 without the plus after davlik wipe and system format and working fine now, rooted and wi-fi fine so not sure if rooted problem is related to the Plus version.
Guest revmit Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 I have a vanishing problem as well: I have no widgets??? The are only the built in ones... Not a single widget I install, appears... Tried reinstalling them one by one, tried different launchers, even tried new ROMs but with no effect... What causes this and how can I fix it? Make sure you don't have them installed on the SD card. Of that's not the problem, sorry can't help you.
Guest Carbonize Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Just some suggestions for next update: - normal version should have a "launcher", the white icons for menu/phone/etc are just ugly Is there a way for you do let us select wireless conection instead of 3g at 1st boot? it always costs me some money because i don't have a internet plan If it didn't have a launcher it wouldn't work at all so obviously it already has one. Normal version comes with LauncherPro, Plus version comes with ADW and basic version comes with stock Gingerbread launcher. Just tell it to skip the registration process at the start then sort out your wifi and go add your account.

I know it has a launcher, thats why i quoted it.. what i really mean is, the default settings should show the menu "box" and some colored icons for example. But this is not important at all. About the registration, even if i skip the registration it turns 3g data on ;)
Guest ObamaGoesPostal Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Could you remove REGPON wifi KeepAlive in the naked version? For the new update? It keeps enabling and draining battery for me.
Guest m_w_clarke Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Just to let you know that this is my first step into Gingerbread, coming from Flbs 9b Froyo ROM. I installed the "plus" version, but replaced the ADW launcher in the zip file with LauncherPro (which I prefer and have paid for) before PROMMING. As part of this, I had to go from Gen1-> Gen2, following the great instructions on this forum. Just to report back that following the instructions to a "t", I don't have ANY wifi issues or GPS issues (I haven't installed the patch zip files) So, as a reminder to all who are doing this, please try wiping EVERYTHING from clockwork, before posting a query; that could be the simplest solution to everything. This is what I did. Everything runs so smooth! Its brilliant. Thanks for all you hardwork. PS Im loving the CM7 theme change. Genius!

What do i need to wipe if anything I followed the below steps this morning and it worked (I could not use V5 Plus due to rooting and wifi issues that I had, but most people seem to be ok with it): Use the attached files. Use adb or file manager to install ThemeManager.apk, and use adb push to copy ThemeChooser.apk to /system/app The files are here (thanks ZTE_Blade) Edited June 12, 2011 by sandriderman

Guest craigb244 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 anyone else had the green key light stick on? dont know what triggers it but i had it happen a couple of times on v4 and once (last night) on v5. have to restart to make it turn off
Guest Just Wondering Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 v5 battery drain is faster than v4, I did a full wipe installed regular version, I've turned off regpon but , it still shows to be killed by app killer, . the battery drain is around 20 percent faster
Guest Just Wondering Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Hmm I wonder if its the wifi driver? Any chance of a link to the v4 wifi driver
Guest robinhud2010 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 How did you change the default launcher? To change default launcher b4 flashing the rom, replace .apk file of the old launcher with .apk of the desired launcher in system/app of the rom's zip folder. To change default launcher when you have multiple launchers installed, you can use the app "Home switcher" from the market.

Guest Carbonize Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 To change default launcher when you have multiple launchers installed, you can use the app "Home switcher" from the market. Or just go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications and select the current launcher then click the Clear defaults button.
Guest streather Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 yes,I tried everything what I could do,but the problem is still there.I go back to N79 or 2.2.and then the problem is gone. I've had the same issue, Tried different 2.3.4 roms, tried different channels on my router, different encryption on the router itself, rebooting it, different routers, different wifi drivers everything i can think to try, it still disconnects me from wifi every 30s or so. Reflash a 2.2 rom or a 2.3.4 rom earlier than Nightly build 80, bang works fine. not entirely sure what the issue could be.
Guest Niks10 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Posting this from my vega which is trying to tether from blade, but the moment blade's screen goes to sleep, I loose internet connectivity. So to be able to tether via blade, I have to keep my screen awakewhich consumes more battery.
Guest deksman2 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Lol... I just barely installed V4 a couple of days ago. I think I'll wait until V6 or 8 until I upgrade the ROM (provided you reach that version Psyloid). May I recommend something? Could you please check the Plus version of the ROM? When I installed the V4 Plus version, my UI response was extremely slow (down to a crawl). I'm not sure if this is the case with V5, but if it is, I'd recommend you remove it permanently. I don't think you should really keep 3 separate versions of the ROM, then again, it's your decision on how you proceed. Incorporating AdFree would be a good idea btw. Any news on when the new version will be available and what is to be expected from it? Also... is it possible to work on the UI to make it even smoother? I'm not just referring to the app drawer and launcher, I'm talking about the Settings menus and so forth (scrolling through contacts).
Guest lohikko Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) Finally moved to v4 naked this morning, added a few apps I appreciate, customized it a bit... and very satisfied with what I have now! Thanks a lot Psyloid! Concerning the auto-brightness settings, you can customize them in Cyanogenmod settings/Display/Backlight (raw translation). I personally use the following custom brightness settings (second checkbox): Light sensor Screen Buttons 0-99 20 50 100-199 35 10 200-399 50 0 400-599 70 0 600-799 90 0 800-999 110 0 1000-4999 130 0 5000+ 255 0 I also enabled the last option, light decrease, with default hysteresis. Obviously auto-brightness has to be on in the Brightness settings... The result is quite satisfactory to me ;) Your brightness settings are working great for me, thanks a lot mate! :P Edited June 12, 2011 by lohikko
Guest jlgmax Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 I installed V5 plus - wi fi wouldnt connect and Titanium complained of a lack of root access. Installed V5 standard - all working I have an Orange San Fran OLED model upgraded to GEN2.
Guest barnehage1337 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) Nice rom! Quick, good battery. Just one issue... Phone froze after I hung up call (screen blank) once. Had to remove battery and restart. Using green v5 naked. gen2 updated, sold as gen1 (swedish) Edited June 12, 2011 by barnehage1337
Guest vegeman Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Really want to try this rom but am having a couple of problems. Am trying to tinker with the apps in the system folder before rezipping and installing the rom. Before it used to work for all the other roms I tried (Froyos) but I keep getting installation aborted now. Do I need to sign the new zip or anything? Thanks
