I use Launcher Pro, but my friend uses GOlauncher and we're both on SS RLS5. GOlauncher IS faster on his phone when compared to mine, but I don't want to change since Launcher Pro is a paid app. :P

Apps:

Titanium Backup Pro (the free version is slow and hangs)

Opera Mini (saves on data use and is the quickest)

Astro/Root Manager (both do pretty much the same thing, tho i prefer astro as a UI but use root manager when i need root writes on the /system partition etc)

Android Terminal Emulator (how can you live without a terminal???)

Launcher Pro (on cm7 i find this by far the fastest)

Games:

N.O.V.A. (not on market)

Real Football (not on market)

Assasin's Creed (not on market)

Eternal Legacy (not on market)

I wanted to keep to your '5 app rule' and as the blade is upstairs (so i cant choose from my app drawer) i just wrote the first 5 apps that came to mind when i thought of the blade and the games i am currently playing. The blade is an awesome gaming device (well not stock, but with modifications). so defo check out some intensive apps.

i had a swype apk for a while but it would never work, said incompatible i just pressumed it didnt work on the blade. there are other swipable keyboards i use SlideIt

two ways, to increase space for apps,

1) change your partition sizes. system patition needs only 128mb for most roms. stock it is 207mb. So 80ish mb is wasted. cache is also 41mb when stock, whereas most newer roms need only 2mb. so another 40ish is wasted.

repartitoning your internal memory can therefore increase space on the data partition (where apps go). mine is about 314mb atm.

2) the other way is too make use of external storage (this is the easier way). by putting your apps on the sdcard you can have up to 32GB of apps :D. to do this, you can either use the crappy froyo 'move to sd' feature in settings > applications. or you can partition your sdcard and effectivley create an 'app partiton' then store and use all (or some) of your apps from there using Link2sd or Darktremor (or simular). I recomend doing it this way. (i personally use a Link2sd as i like being able to move only specfic apps to sd and choose which bits (or all) of the app to be on the sdcard eg libs, apk, etc.

i recommend you use the 'search' feature (or google) to learn how to partition your sdcard.....

You need to select model during registration so it may be your .apk was not for a Blade, it works fine on mine.

But there are some things which have to be addressed to be a perfect Android app:

- When installing a new version, you loose your bookmarks.

EDIT: I just installed a new version and the system now doesn't do an uninstallation before installing the new version. So, user data is kept. :D

- When you exit Navit, your settings aren't saved (that's why you should do the editing of navit.xml)

I personally can live with these 2 things because navigation works very well and very fast and I like OpenStreetMap.

As you can see on http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Android, there are a lot of apps which use OSM data and there's a lot of development going on.

You just have to see if a certain app can use offline maps. For me that's very important because I want to be independent of any data connections when using navigation.
