Hi Trip, this time around not going so well. Last night ROM was great, really fast restored my apps from my backup and all worked now all day today just getting FCs on various apps. and sometimes system and market. Had to roll back to GB 2.3.3. I have rebooted several times and fixed permissions as well but still no luck. Maybe I will have better luck with the next version.

One of the restored apps is probably causing that issue.

Reinstall the ROM and dont restore any apps. Reinstall them from the market/original APKs instead and see what happens.

Yeah I'm gonna agree with other people here, the data stops working after a while of not being used, disabling and reenabling fixes it. It's not a major drama but it does stop emails from coming through. Also the wifi doesn't reconnect properly, resolved using blade wifi fix on the market. Another small bug is searching in the address bar. Doesn't correctly put in the &s so it doesn't search. Other than that, I'm not having any lagging issues and the battery life is fantastic. 24 hours and I'm at 44% with a tonne of usage. Nice work, trip!

Thinking about it, the great battery life is probably due to data disabling its self. Heh, double edged sword.

reflash back to 2.1 then,root, install xrecovery..done all,flash from the begining...gointo xrecovery mode..do the following step..factory reset full wipe,wipe cache,wipe dalvik cache,wipe battery stats,install custom zip>> tripmiui-iris-gb1.2... ,when flash done don't reboot,just pull battery out leave for 30s, .put back battery use flashtool to flash baseband 71 done ,reboot enjoy

Trip, I enabled my data (3G) and in the notification bar or status bar appeared that uploading DSC00041 picture. when I clicked on that message, it took me to some kind of picture sharing menu. I didn't realize anything. I didn't upload any picture myself so how can my pictures just get uploaded without permission?

Last time it happened to me in FROYO, that some of my hidden images got deleted automatically and this time the hidden picture were getting uploaded without my notice.

Why is this so? Is there anything that i m missing to stop?

If this is the case then I will have to stop using this rom cuz it keeps uploading my pictures (don't know how and where) without my permissions.

if anyone is having the same problem?

and yes Trip, I havent installed any other Application in my phone except the ones that already came with ur rom (system apps).

I havent had the data turn off on me, is this baseband related depending on the area you live? Im thinking about trying baseband 65 since its what came with the 2.1 update for at&t here. I have started to get some serious lag issues that other speak of, and my battery life has not been great however I usually dont get the proper battery performance after a new rom until a full drain and charge. I also should meantion that I didnt install this rom from a fresh 2.1, I had wolfbreaks, then ewjet rom, then installed this rom after wiping everything including my ass! Seriously though, I love this rom.

It seems like theres alot of questions about restoring, and how to install this rom, probably why so many problems. I NEVER restore data even if its said to be ok, and just read the instructions before asking, it is confusing sometimes and I F up too but take some time to read the thread, its usually quicker than waiting for a response!!

First off i have been following trip since xda and i would like to say thanks not the first time :-) I tried this rom today and i have to be honest as i always am.

It was terrible, basically so laggy it was unusable. I tried to use it for a few hows and when ever i did something it would freeze up and was really unusable.

I like to give feedback as that is abviously the idea so trip and work out any issues. The camera did work i have to say which is an excellent achievement in itself.

If you guys could recommend a way to resolve this issue i am happy to try again and re-install. Which i think i will do anyway as i would like this to work for me. I may just wait until the next release :-)

Firstly I have read this whole thread from start to finish and with the latest 1.2 a very small amount of people have said they found it a bit laggy, but your the first to say it was unusable! Now since your the first I say your either are doing something wrong when installing it or your using a backup to reinstall your app's and possibly data too. Maybe if you could list where you started from and each step you did to get to where your at with it now. That way more people here can help you find what gone wrong.

I for one are very very happy with the speed and having a near 100% fully featured trip miui rom. I'm for once not so eager for the next version, I'm happy with this one. :D Which reminds me I have to send trip some more beer tokens like I promised him.

maybe the 1.2 is not yet ready for primetime. I did a completely clean install, even reformating the sd-card, but I still get a lot for force-closes (camera, market, settings, 3rd party software), even reboots after trying to change something in the settings.

If I see correctly this rom is built on the 2.3.4 from trip with added libs from the official se-rom. Maybe it would be more stable if it was built the other way round: taking the official rom as base and miui-fing it.

however, great work trip (im on your miui roms since 1.0.4, even followed over from xda)

I use the SE Update Service to bring it back to stock, SE install the latest GB rom with bb71.

So can just root it then install the Iris 1.2 gb?

Ok to all , who are suffering from sluggishness....

I am damn sure that u did back up of apps and data...

Dont install any kind of backup.... yesterday i did titanium backup and eneded up to sluggish phone... i fresh installed the rom today and there aint any sluggishness .It is very fast almost like froyo..

[i was so idiot to backup via titanium and it was the first time i did backup on any rom and i didnt know that it installed data too]

8 MP works too ( i think it was the backup , that even FC my camera too yesterday--- I am extremely sorry for reporting stupid things yesterday)

only things remaining as for me -

1.market still FC [old market coming , not to bother]

2.3G data drops off after some time , need to reenable data.[it was happening in froyo miui too for me. firstly I thought it can be related to my network. but it didnt happened in stock 2.3. but i am not sure about reason.

3.angry birds and some games are not being installed..

4.I played few songs in music player....when u change songs in music player one by one speedily ,,, after 8-9 songs , , , music player stucked and stopped playing music. I FC it and started the music player again. It shows that song is being played but no sound. u have to restart phone to get it work. this happened in your 0.4.0 too and even on one of the MIUI rom on my friend's DesireHD. I checked this on my phone 3-4 times and happened all the time.. again i am not sure about the reason.

5.Before screen off , my brightness goes upto 100 %.... ???

6. while switching off usb storage , it does not show --preparing sd card-- in status bar...

there is a topic how to root official 2.3 gb rom step by step .go find it at xda dev forum ,thanks to azuzu & doomlord^^ so after root+with xrecovery u can flash trip 1.2 gb coz u ardy hv the latest kernel+bb.enjoy

Sometimes it feels laggy with no many apps running. You must kill all apps to get smooth again. If you go to advance menu during a call you get wlod. The old market works fine, no FCs after downgrade it.

but in the system dialer it works very good. no problem, but it would be great if go contacts works.

at least, i have no problems.

Camera works good, 8MP, 6MP.... works all very fast.

The same for me man :( I reflashed the ROM with brand new formated SD card but nothing to do..... :( laggy most of the time if use normally (market , games , widgets )

I tried ur 3G trick and it is damn working good. thanks for that. :)

And market does force closes sometimes but I successfully installed Google+ from the market and yes 8MP cam works fine, and the rom is so better than the froyo, actually faster than the froyo. and my 3G connection didn't drop, its active until I turn it off myself.

just one problem that don't know where my pics are getting uploaded when I turn on the 3G data connection and root explorer FC. rest all is perfect just like TRIP :)

My phone looks more beautiful and its super faster than before. I seriously didn't even try the official Gb from SE. waited for ur rom and very happy with it :)

oh my god, NNOO!! How often must this be said? You can't use any custom kernel if you have flashed the new sony gb kernel, cause there the custom kernel isn't booting. And trips Iris 1.2 gb miui need this kernel and until se released the sources we can't create custom kernel working with it!! Ok?
