The new market for me works ok, just maybe a little laggy.. made it for installing angry birds & others, angry birds installed even without unmounting sdcard.

The phone is fast himself, but some applications as task managers for closing apps lags a little.

No big problems so far.

I just want to chime in on a few things.

Games - I don't think Trip's goal is to get games to work. Chances are though that your issues are related to something else that he can fix. Look for other issues in your day to day use and see if they can be related or not.

App2SD - Ok he doesn't update the changelog perfectly but it clearly says that it's not a working feature since day one...maybe looking around for other alternatives will be your best option. Google is a great search engine I've heard...

Titanium Backups - Definitely try to avoid installing data. It does give you an option so you should choose "App Only". Also I have found that some of the backups TB makes on your sd card are apks...I've only installed one app using this method but it's at least something to try out.

So it's pretty clear that some people have had issues with it being slow. I personally did notice that my phone slowed down a few times after some resource hungry apps (iheartradio + Maps w/GPS + Pulse). During that time I experienced a half black wallpaper (I changed it to my own) and some point after that it did freeze. I'm still trying to break it again...but please keep the comments coming in on what you did when it slowed down and/or the last app installed, etc.

Overall if you're at the point where you've just installed it and are starting to add apps please just take your time and install things one at a time and for major installs restart your phone right afterwards. And understand it's still a work in progress until the words "FINAL" are shown at the top of this topic.

u r welcome... i have been using it since last 1 month.. it worked every single time for me. lol we are the one who uses cheapest 3G in the world.. :lol: .. 2$ --> 2 GB ... and i get upto 7 mbps sometimes.. we will call it Airtel 3G hack B) .. . i stopped paying for my tata photon pro wifi which was only 1 mbps...

The same for me man :( I reflashed the ROM with brand new formated SD card but nothing to do..... :( laggy most of the time if use normally (market , games , widgets )

this is not the first time that some games or apps are not being installed.. it has happened before too and it was fixed.. it can happen sometimes while rom is under development...

Rename the .Zip to .APK.

Then, put it inside your SD.

Use Root Explorer, and remove the New market from the System/APP folder, after that, you just need to copy the old market and check the correct Permissions.

I just don't have here unfortunatelly how the permissions must be...

it's in the Settings > Display Settings > Bottom of the page there are two on/off sliders for on and off animations :)

Still FC.... it just doesn't work for everybody.... Its funny because I have used Cobrato's Rom and the new market works perfectly... straight out the box

Hm..

Cant recieve sms now of a sudden! Tried removing all of my text messages (if my phone was full) but no, didnt recieve any messages then either. I can hear my speakers making that annoying sound when someone sends me a message, but nooo. No message! :S

Awesome / Amazing and fun...yes it's a little slow like my grandmother but i love her dearly like this ROM. There are a couple hicups but I have made the switch from FROYO to GINGERBREAD and it's just unbelievable how much more work i can get done. The themes are so much better as well. I am running the sense 3.0 lock screen and the dark rounded icons with the text based launcher and everything has been smooth as silk. Yet to have an FC issue market has been working well as long as i have a strong signal. Had some early hiccups but rebooted 3x did fix permissions a couple times and really all i can say is WOW!

Firstly I have read this whole thread from start to finish and with the latest 1.2 a very small amount of people have said they found it a bit laggy, but your the first to say it was unusable! Now since your the first I say your either are doing something wrong when installing it or your using a backup to reinstall your app's and possibly data too. Maybe if you could list where you started from and each step you did to get to where your at with it now. That way more people here can help you find what gone wrong.

I for one are very very happy with the speed and having a near 100% fully featured trip miui rom. I'm for once not so eager for the next version, I'm happy with this one. :D Which reminds me I have to send trip some more beer tokens like I promised him.

Thanks for your reply. I have installed a few roms in the time i have had the x10i (since January) but in the hope that i can resolve the problem i have had i will note the stages i went through to install trips miui rom.

1, I turned off the phone anyd put it into Flash mode and flashed the ftf file that trip supplied for the kernal and bb .71

2, I then unplugged the handset and booted the handset into xrecovery. Previous to these step i installed the custom rom onto my sd card.

3, I cleared factor settings (Full Wipe)

4, i cleared cache partion

5, I entered Partion Tools and cleaned the following:-

6, Formatted System

7, Formatted Data

8, Formatted Cache

9, I then entered advanced options

10, Cleared dalvik Cacha

11, cleared battery stats

12, installed customer rom from trip

13, Rebooted

I then from then on in had nothing but a laggy phone this was before i had installed my apps from my astro backup.

I then installed installed my apps and it became unuseable.

I re-installed another rom i had a backup of

Sony Ericsson is pushing out an update for the Arc and the PLAY.

It's a minor update, the Android version is still 2.3.3, but it brings a few useful changes like stereo sound in videos, landscape mode in the homescreen and a few others.

The homescreens of the Xperia Arc and the Xperia PLAY will both work in landscape mode after the update and there's a selection of new themes available as well. The other big change is the sound in videos - both switch from mono to stereo sound (other parameters of the videos are unchanged).

Next up is DLNA support so you can play media from DLNA-enabled devices. Finally, there's xLoud, which improves the performance of the loudspeaker when playing music.
