Im astonished that some cant put up static ips.

when i flash a new rom the first thing i do is putup a static ip.

in that way wifi connects instantly & saves lot of time searching :)

I know man I can't believe I'm on GB 2.3.5 and MIUI 1.8.5!!! Trip is breaking new ground all the time. NOBODY can ever say trip just copy's others work... anyone that doesn't mind putting a static IP in flash this bad boy!!!!

I don't mind setting static IP if thats a compromise to have this fantastic speed and responsiveness :)

I do think SE should pay Trip, WB... the special ones who makes SE's products much better.

Is there any way to mention this idea to SE, seriously I mean, not joking. If Trip have payment we of course benefit a lot.

Sounds like a DNS issue (did you use the same IP for DNS as the Gateway?) Try the default Google DNS 8.8.8.8 (not the fastest but reliable)

Although if it was working maybe your phone or router needs rebooted,

BTW:

For any one setting up static ip, there is a nice app on the market for free called: "Overlook thing", which give us almost all the info u need, with correct IP address for your phone *No Overlook Thing app in market just Overlook Fing ^^

It doesn't help with that issue trust me. It only reads the settings you have in the phone already. Change you DNS to 8.8.8.8 and test it.

What details did you put into the static settings. (dont worry nobody can use them to hack you)

Told you that on the last page, your Gateway = your Router, so same IP Address :P

Nice app mate only its Overlook Fing I take it...but you need to on the network before it works

yeah it is :P sorry for miss spell :D i was already flashing 1.5 when in post it ;)

Anyway thanks to ur advise few pages back, I now managed to set up my static IP, so I'm staying on 1.5 :D

ROM is a bit sluggish at the moment, but i know it needs to settle in.

But I'm loving the screen quality, and from the start it seams better then the previous one :D (new bravia engine ?? I think :D)

Sorry if I sound stupid. Can anyone explain how to connect through static ip to my wifi accesspoint? it has dhcp and when I set to use 192.168.1.6 nothing happens. I also set gateway and netmask for that matter but no connection.

Read my detailed post a page or 2 back!!! You can't set your IP the same as another device try 192.168.1.10 or something (but read my post HERE) B)
