Guest scattaman Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 DOH! Forgot about the ipconfig release, and ipconfig renew... that is because it has been the longest since I had Windows.... xD Well if your PC is set to dynamic IP, you might not want to use those commands... it might change the IP address and make the static ones you use in your phone obsolete...
Guest qwer23 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) The facts speak for themselves: You where first to the finish post with GB with working camera First using Android 2.3.5 First using MIUI 1.8.5 First with working torch First using BB71 (I think) Plus your themes kick ass Probably forgot other first's but that other place's x10 forum has had tumble weed blowing about it for weeks now Without trip the x10 would be total sh1te B) Yeah, well.... Z (along with J and FreeXperia team) First made dual booting possible First made xRecovery possible First made native custom ROMs possible. First uncapped FPS (even if Trip thinks otherwise) First enabled JIT on our devices First came with fully working BRAVIA First fixed audio stutter for all GB ROMs First made an AOSP 2.3.3 Gingerbread from new sources Was way earlier in creating custom kernels than Trip (did he even make one? not sure...) Ignoring most of the things I just listed, where would we even be without xRecovery and his kernel work? Besides, did someone even try to prove the fact that Z used Trips torch fix? Or did someone look if it is a common fix among loads of other devices? I didn't, but I can't believe and it bugs me how blindly you swallow every single of Trip's claims. That said, I'm aware of getting flamed to death by the TripNSheeps and will not bother to answer anymore. Everyone who's curious can look up the facts themselves, so here we go: Trip will try to make me look like a stupid child, his followers will laugh and flame, and perhaps one or two will consider digging into this. One thing more: No, I didn't follow Trip into this forum, I was here earlier, because of another Android device. Yes, I like Trips work a lot. But I hate his unbelievable attitude and arrogance. Don't bother, I'm already out of this thread again. Edited August 8, 2011 by qwer23
Guest TripNRaVeR Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Well if your PC is set to dynamic IP, you might not want to use those commands... it might change the IP address and make the static ones you use in your phone obsolete... In 99% of the cases he will get the same IP again lol mister above z was the first who said that bravia engine couldnt be ported (after lookin at my work he realised that he again was heavily wrong) + his "bravia" joke cant even be installed on other roms, so give credits to se never to z z was the first who build gingebread from sources? LOL run a diff on his "rom" and the stock SE rom..... the only difference is my hacking method and a simple android framework/apps... all the other is just copied from the stock se rom, all the libs/binary files all of them nothing compiled just rip-off z bravia misses at least 3 files so -1 again z fixed dual booting yeah man thats a future we are all like with our amount of memory  bye bye Edited August 8, 2011 by TripNRaVeR
Guest Cyberman_NI Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Hats of too the guys who worked hard to bring us xrecovery! Although isn't it based on ClockWorkMod source files? That's open source programing for you I guess. I was dis'n anyone in my above post. I just stated the facts as I know them. This being trip's thread and all that, most people are very protective of trip. And if we stayed in the other forum we'd all still be using out of date software
Guest jpminou Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 This member is Z or Z's lawyer LOOOOOOL :D :D
Guest ZePhantom Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Lets stick to Trip here. If you want Z's work, go to xda and install somethign thats was released a week ago. A week is a lifetime in software development especially when Trip is realeasing his Roms daily with awesome improvement each time. Trip, Ignore the Z lovers ... 99.99% of those here know you and know what you have done. the 0.01% of trolls are just jealous because their favourites are out of date. Apart from Trip and Wolf, noone is releasing consistently and imroving their ROMs on a regular basis. Its as simple as that. .
Guest scattaman Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 I'll just say my piece here and leave it at that.... I respect Z... I think he has done alot for the X10 community... and anyone who say otherwise is being really ungrateful i also respect Trip because like Z, he has done alot for this community as well. I believe each of these Devs has their shortcomings (i'm more familiar with Trip's becaue I'm here all the time) but I've come to accept them because we're all humans and all have this flaw... With that said, I really don't believe in dividing this community (something that has certainly happened with this XDA/Modaco thing) especially since our phones are at the end of its lifetime and we need more people working together than before. Z has done great things for this community and Trip has done the same. give each his props but please do not divide the community any further. With great power comes great responsibilty and I think sometimes, some of our Devs need to take the high road instead of tearing down each other. its so easy to berate and insult, but imagine if all the devs were working together? One can wish... right?
Guest BuglyAstard Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 1.5.2 bb71 I cant install apps from the market on my computer, as in it sais "sending to my device" but never does, no big deal though I flashed bb67, and since I thought wifi was having problems turning off (more later) I tried flashing bb71 again and got stuck at the sony ericsson screen. After starting fresh with flashtool and proceeding to fresh 1.5.2 (no sd format tho), I noticed that wifi was set to sleep when screen was off, I unchecked it and its rock solid. Im going back to bb67 because call quality is better IMO. Trip, I hate to keep kicking a dead horse but the call recorder subject, I find it interesting that it worked on 1.5.1, and not on 1.5.2, so its either something you changed or I made a mistake somewhere installing. Obviously if what you changed out weighs having the recorder I understand, I just think its a very cool function and another thing that makes miui unique, I hope you can fix it. Thanks again for bringing us miui, its the best.

One can wish... right? Agree. Z has done a lot before, but Trip is the most consistent performer right now and is the major source of good and new ROMS. Together they are a formidable team .. but its a shame that the users are making them enemies. Best to lelave both to their own and not compare. .
Guest p3terr Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) Awesome rom! been testing now for a few hours.. is it just me? but i feel theres a bit of stuttering.. NOT ALWAYS.. but for example, when the screen is off.. and then i press the power button.. you feel a bit of a stutter.. this happen to anyone else? or just me? and thank u again for this awesome rom.. so far everything is great! btw i'm using UberMusic, not the stock player Edited August 8, 2011 by p3terr

One can wish... right? Sounds like you have been watching to many pressential speeches lolll I do agree though. apart from one thing. Trip moved here to get away from all the crap and on the most part there is no crap until some flamer comes over to spy on things. Most likely the cowards way, under a different name. We are all here learning this great new platform. Some faster than others, but on the most part it satisfies us in ways girlfriends can't reach

This being trip's thread and all that, most people are very protective of trip. And if we stayed in the other forum we'd all still be using out of date software Ok, I'll post once more, but then I swear I'm out ;) Of course xRec is based on CWM, but yes, that's open source for me. And I don't know when you got your device, but there was a really long time when nothing, I mean nothing(!) besides slightly modded (more like themed) stock ROMs was possible on the X10. This changed first when Z made xRec possible. I also didn't mean to diss you and actually I didn't even mean to diss Trip but I got a little carried away. Sorry about that to you both. About the other forum and the out-of-date software, well this isn't true at all. There is a lot going on and there is pretty much in development that just goes in other directions like Trip's ROMs. While he concentrates on MIUI (which is great) and a little on CM7 and the Arc ROM, the other devs build AOSP, CM7 as well and Touchwiz ROMs. Many of the ROMs are as much porting or developing as Trips, and I just don't like the fact that he tends to lower these ROMs sometimes. @Trip: - He doesn't miss these files in BRAVIA, he left them out for a reason and even explained why ;) - For the AOSP ROM: you're right about that. Just it doesn't make a difference for the end user. And these are very glad to have a fast as hell AOSP - For the dual booting: I'm not talking about the workaround he did a few months ago to give us the option of having a custom ROM and a slimmed down stock ROM with fully working camera (which was a nice idea as well), I talk about the dual booting way back in the days of pre-custom ROM, when he ran the first custom froyo ROM on sd card in dual boot with stock ROM (which you prepared as native xrec file. But it wasn't that he couldn't have done that, but he let it run on sd for development reasons due to stability issues on froyo) ... man, while I'm writing the posts never end... so: @jpminou: No I'm not. @ZePhantom: That's because there's more to development than just ROMs. Z does a lot of other things (kernels, BRAVIA, fix audio stutter) and releases his work for more than just the X10 (X8, X10 mini/pro) That's why you won't see that much of him. But I agree that both Trip and Z are really great devs. @scattaman: That's why I like the attitude of Z, J and FreeXperia. They work together to achive a lot and they share their source to everyone who wants to join. @Cyberman_NI: I have the same name in the other forum as well. And as I said, I came to MoDaCo about a moth before trip because of another device. But obviously I happen to look what's going on with my beloved X10 over here ;) So, let my final words in this topic be a little nicer this time: Thank you Trip for your great and very appreciated ROMs, but please respect the work of others without trying to lower it all the time. And sorry again for my angry words before. Edited August 8, 2011 by qwer23

One can wish... right? I didnt have problems with z before but he tought he could make fun out of the bravia engine but then he realised he was completely wrong for the second time. And always searching for credits but never heard of giving them so from now on i'm not showing any respect to him. Its cool what he has done with recovery but thats the past so NEXT xda is the place where you need to credit someone for his work, but this is only for some... there are members who dont have to give credit and release everything as there work... the fact that z released recovery doesnt mean he can take whatever he want and put his name on it and scream "hey people look what i can build"
Guest Wolfbreak Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Trip i dont know if you ignore me or not but did you read my PM i reanswered you regarding the Bravia thing? BTW are you gonna release a Update for your ARC port?
Guest NoirCavalier Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Come on guys, not again. -.- For me i decided, that Trip´s ROM´s are the ones, which are working best on my Phone. And i think there are a lot of people here, which doesn´t matter who was the first of doing this and the first of doing that..... -.- For me, in the meantime, it sounds like the war between Apple vs Android. Perhaps you guys should patent your things and then go to a lawyer if someone copy your work.... -.- Sorry, but this little war between the devs make me sick of reading this again and again. It´s annoying to read somethings like that: - He was the first - No, i was the first. - No, i know, that he was the first. - I made this at Nov.2185. He at Nov. 2186 - ... - ... - Always twice as much as you..... Guys, come on..... Stop this annoying spamming of the ROM-Threads.... I think all the devs make our X10 to something special and i´m glad, that they are out there doing this for us. Every dev should do his thing and every user should use the ROM he like the most. As i said, Trip´s ROM´s are the best working for me, so i´ll use them and it doesn´t matter me and other users who was the first of doing this and who was the first of doing that..... -.-
Guest Moritd Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 ah i guess my dream wont be real since Trip dont want to work with other devs.....damnit he just want credit Give Him credit then he`s ok ....

Guest cjsabaki Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Ufc rocks.... coors light beer doesn't.... hehe!! Strange days indeed!! Lol!! What do american beer n a canoe have in common??? Their both damn close to water.... Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI-Iris using Tapatalk
Guest JazzLOCO Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 OK, so if there's not going to be a fix for the WIFI, where you can connect to dynamic IP, then I'm S.O.L., so I guess I can't enjoy it this time...
Guest Cyberman_NI Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) and it did, had to reconfigure everything... that is what I was trying to say, I have no Static IP... Man your doing it all wrong. Sounds like your making a hard job from nothing. Most routers run DHCP which assigns IP Addresses automatically. So all your other phones and computer remain the same as before. The only thing you need to change is the settings on your x10. 1 minute sorts it. Honestly  @ZePhantom lollll (sorry chris) @Chris Good joke, must remember that for all those bud / miller drinkers. Edited August 8, 2011 by Cyberman_NI
Guest hemo1001 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) please someone fix the max-brightness issue then do your flame war thing .... i'll cheer you up :D .... i really love this rom .... Edited August 8, 2011 by hemo1001
Guest Cyberman_NI Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 and it did, had to reconfigure everything... that is what I was trying to say, I have no Static IP... I think I have now figured out what your getting mixed up with. You don't need to pay your ISP for a static IP to use this rom. Your external IP has nothing to do with the Internal one that your computers and other devices use. Most people will be on a dynamic IP from their ISP. They still can use this rom with only a 1 minute tweak of the settings. Sorry took a while to realise what you mean't. :P
