Guest Daedric1383 Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Question, is it not possible to get/read mAMPS that are being spent/charged ? Current Widget shows battery percentage, and mV, but not mA. Can this be enabled on the kernel ? Does the A1 have hardware to measure such? (my really old htc kaiser running android could read this)
Guest siggey Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 what so you mean i should flash it again, but uncheck the google thing at the start?? thanks in advance! Yes
Guest Stangoesagain Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Urghh, I forgot about that one after flash. I skipped google sign-in at first but forgot to uncheck Backup and Restore in Privacy settings. The phone, however, was fully functional before I eventually signed in with my Google account and now I don't see the old wifi settings anymore. Does it mean my new settings were uploaded to Google rather than old settings overwrote them after sign-in? The exact procedure is not very clear on the ROM page, it just says "Don't restore systam data with Titanium Backup", nothing about avoiding google backup, too.

Guest Stangoesagain Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Sorry, I haven't finished reading the LeoGB thread before flashing LiquidNext. 140+ pages is a heavy load to read. What can I do further investigate battery drain after charging? I can't find any particular apps to be responsible, everything seems to be normal, the phone just consumes more juice than usual. And it doesn't happen after every charge either.
Guest mmick Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 MIUI based on Android 2.3 and MIUI based on Android 2.2. And on both I've got hangs. [...] some problems in cyanogenmod(MIUI like LN based on cyanogen) I only got freezes / reboots with LN 1.8. Before (1.7.x) I had none that I can remember. From all the tests I´ve done: - every single Android 2.3 ROM I´ve tested (MIUI or CM7 based) consume a lot of battery and the CPU gets hot - LN 1.7.x had the lowest problems from all Android 2.3 I´ve tested (didn´t try LN 1.6.x versions) - I tested stock Android 2.2 (the same I used as the base MIUI/CM7 install) + CM6.1.1 and everything is running perfectly! - I noticed that ROMs with OC capabilities & with launchers (built in the ROM) different from the Android´s stock seem more unstable. All in all I can live with Froyo CFW: battery and web Flash is fine, speed is no different, I have about the same free RAM and no reboots/freezes.
Guest Stangoesagain Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Different people have different experiences. On good days, like today, battery drain is very very low, even better than on stock Froyo or Eclair before it. You should have a look at Asus Transformer SOD threads (sleep of death) - people can't agree on absolutely anything. Dock, no dock, auto-brightness, no auto-brightness, SetCPU tweaks, no SetCPU tweaks, on charger, off charger, this ROM, that ROM, revert to the previous version, keep with the current version, go back to stock with OTA - there's no rhyme nor reason why SOD happens to some people. 40+ pages trying to pinpoint the problem and still no idea what could be the cause. Just life.
Guest emilio84 Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 often when i make a call, screen doesn't power on, even i finish it. This appends often when i make long call, so i must remove batter and power on my phone again. Iìve a Acer liquid A1 with 1.8 liquid next. Is a common problem? is there a fix? Thank you very much
Guest mmick Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Different people have different experiences. [...] Just life. Well, there are things that cannot work that way :) We rely too much on these smartphones to allow them to have "mood changes": I cannot allow that I cannot receive an important call or the alarm didn´t rang because the phone freezes while I sleep; I cannot allow that I leave home for 2h with 30% battery and my phone runs out of battery on those 2h without me doing anything; Yes these are not official ROMs, but there are certain bugs that are too serious to allow daily use IMO. "just life" can´t be used on some scenarios :)

Guest Stangoesagain Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 (edited) There are very few people working on these ROMs, if they can't reproduce the problem on their phones they won't go out and buy a dozen to see what percentage is affected. There's also the fact that very very few people know all the implications of each and every line in ROMs code. CM is not written specifically for Liquid, is it? Some things get lost in translation. Yeah, I also don't like to leave the house with a full battery and then it dies by lunchtime because I didn't have time to reboot and reset all the defaults lost in the process - AdwLauncher needs to be restored from Titanium to revert to the theme icons and SwiftkeyX needs to be manually enabled, and even calls need to be set to "Use dialer" instead of Skype, and that's after every reboot, practically after every other recharge. Strike that, after reboot the phone just hangs on "community rom" screen and I need to pull out the battery, I should go through shutdown if I want a safe restart. I could go back to the stock again but it's a trade off as then I would lose ext2 on SD card and there's no way my internal memory can work with all the apps I keep on my phone. I don't know any better ROMs than LN, semi-official Froyo LCR had too many FCs on me to make it usable, and I understand that all Gingerbread ROMs are CM based anyway. Maybe I should try Chocolate kernel, but then it's probably another hundred page thread I have no time to read and there's very little chance that battery issue was accidentally fixed there. Perhaps I could run a log script on my phone and upload the output if anyone has time to analyze it and find the source of unexpected battery drain, what more can I do? Life is not perfect, but when I look at my Antique CM homescreen with only Antique CM icons strategically placed around Antique SM background and a matching notification bar, it's just pure awesomeness. No iPhone user will ever figure out how to even make a phone call, let alone spot all the apps and games on the homescreen. Oh, and for widgets I chose only the ones where I can set colors, too. Three homescreens in the same shades of blue, awesome. Edited September 16, 2011 by Stangoesagain
Guest ikirt Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Anyone else having issues with the market FC after 1.8 update?
Guest MIKEgt Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 I have LN 1.8 Some days before it was necessary to pass by the auto 1500км on a route. Many times my GPS fell off. Under fell off I mean: my navi program works ok. In some moment phone loses coordinates, and then doesn't receive it again. In the status a bar BLINKS the icon of GPS connection. All other phone functions works normal. Reboot of phone/battery sometimes helped, sometimes not. After some attempts of reboots GPS stars normally, but 5-15 minutes all repeats again((( By experiments has clarified that without charging - all ок, and after charging connection GPS falls off in a short time. My auto-charger is 0.9А, 5V. On all previous Roms (2.1, 2.2, 2.2 t&l, LN 1.6... 1.7.1) i had never such problem. Help pls, is there a way of solution PS sorry for poor English
Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 For anyone having FC issues with the new Market, here's a fix that worked for me: Go into Settings > Language and Keyboard > Select Language and select English (United States), even if you think it's already set to English. In my case, it was set to "Ud" (probably short for undefined), even though I thought it was set to English, because everything in the ROM was in English.
Guest zorginho Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 hey thepasto how i can create a swap file in /cache/ and activate it? i've readen something some time ago but i can't remember how to do that

That sounds like an overheating problem. I figured, that sometimes the Liquid gets too warm when using GPS and Charger at the same time. I know that the charger is essential if you want to navigate on the road without loosing all battery within a short time, so here is how to fix it: Instead of attaching ur phone to the windshield or dashboard, find a phone-holder that is placed directly in front of the cooler of your car (Example). This keeps your phone cool and comfy with charger and GPS working - unless its winter and u decide to use hot air :-). Give it a try though.

The phone was little warm (not hot), clima worked at +22 2. I had never such problem at any different ROM may be any other ideas, or is there a way to diagnose the overheating?

I had never such problem at any different ROM may be any other ideas, or is there a way to diagnose the overheating? Dunno ... no other idea yet. But just give it a try - place the phone in front of air-stream (let a friend hold it in position if you dont have a mount available) and see what happens. Then you know if its overheating or not (by the way: phone does not really get hot on the outside when its overheating, so we can't really tell from just touching it). You should also check if your CPU settings are normal. If you (or accidently the ROM) overclocked the CPU, it may also cause mailfunctions. hope that helps
Guest MCAlex Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Will there be new versions of LN? Or is 1.8 the final?
