I don't know why, this is the third time in the row it happened to me, previously I thought it was related to charging or alarms but today, Saturday, it just went dead all on its own. I don't even know when exactly it goes off, there are no symptoms during the day whatsoever, it dies sometimes between 2 and 5.45 AM.

I'm all out of explanations, is there some logging app that I can run at night? Or can it be run simply from the terminal?

Been experiencing the same thing (phone dies during idle and won't turn on. Need to pull batt. Happens usually at night.) when I was on LN a few months ago. Guess i'll be sticking to good ol rooted stock Rom til someone solves this.

Is your phone overclocked?

nope. it wasnt oc'd that time i was in LN

Mine isn't overclocked either and I flashed it after a full wipe only three days ago. The only system tweak I did was to apply V6 fix as recommended in ROM wiki, and I reduced swapiness back to 40.

Should the "Apps on SD" and "Swap" buttons in A2SDGUI be highlighted? I think they were before but now the little strips on them are just grey. Does it mean that my swap is set but not active or not actually available? The phone might die if there are RAM problems, right?

The options in a2sd GUI must be highlighted. I advise you to use kaerry's V6 script settings instead of the ones from wiki. You can find that in older threads.

Everytime i reboot the liquid, that option gets always grey (not active) but why? I've a 512mega swap partition and the rest fat32..

Even the zipalign on boot is active...

Have you installed the last version of a2sd?

In the forum you can find the instructions for darktremor's scripts.

With v6 supercharged we don't need swap

However, if I turn Swap off in A2SDgui it starts moving all apps into the internal memory and messes everything up, including my mind.

For now I just set swapiness to 0 as someone did on that page, too. Buttons are still grey, both for swap and apps on sd.

I see that there aren't that many settings in V6 to play with. The choice is only "hard to kill" or "bulletproof" and a bunch of presets for minfree, the rest is for resetting the script, unkernelizing and such.

Searching for proper setting mushrooms like crazy for me. Now I discovered that A2SDgui and A2SD are not the same thing but I can't find A2SD in the market. What I found is this post where it says that there are bugs in beta version and by running a2sd sheck in terminal emulator I found that mine is 2.7.5.3 Beta4a and that it activated my swap and a bunch of other stuff I don't the heart search for now as I have five search tabs open already with A2SD alone giving 22 pages of results.

There's Kaerry's post in this thread where he recommended minfree values as

- 10 Cust-OOmizer with this settings (strict lowmem): 6, 8, 16, 60, 70, 80

but their are Liquid A1.

Something is definitely wrong with my setup (Balanced 3 from V6 list) because I just saw my phone die twice while TB was syncing to Dropbox with charging via usb.

Could someone explain how A2SD, A2SDgui and V6 are supposed co-exist and with what parameters, and what's with grey buttons in a2sdgui? ATM I haven't found any clues why they are not highlighted and the more I search the more I have to find.

I don't believe memfree settings are so delicate that they would just kill the phone, there must be something else.

What zipalign? Should I turn that on, too?

Kernel.org site is not active,but since 19th September almost every phone has its nightly everyday,especially nexus one(which ow think devs are using as main one)

All sources are avaiable on github... So i don't need to get nightly builds. Porting a rom when sources are avaible for me is useless. We already started to work at 1.9. Our testers are testing it.. So guys just wait for next release :P

On liquid E you don't need swap, so try turn it off. And also turn off v6 scripts. If the problem still, try reflash.

If it turn off swap A2SDgui starts moving my apps to internal memory, for now I set swapinnes to 0 , which should give the effect of having no swap for the phone but I don't know if V6 script still treats it as a working swap and protests.

Would it be okay to delete the swap partition altogether and increase Fat32 instead in the computer or should it be done in Malez only? If done with Malez I would need to copy all my data to and from SD card again and it's painfully slow, and I also don't remember if "remove Swap" option is even there.

I also like V6, without it my ADW Launcher gets butchered on startup and I need to restore it manually from TB to apply theme icons. With V6 I just have to give it a couple of minutes to load everything and then it works fine.

Would it be wise to replace ADW launcher that comes with the ROM with the "standalone" version from the market? Market version is twice as big and is a bit sturdier without applying V6. Also is it normal for ROM Adw launcher to FC if I apply themes from within Adw settings? It does it all the time and I have to go through TB to get it running, ROM Adw launcher can restore from it's own backups but can't apply icons properly.

For removing swap partition you have to rapartition your sd. From malez is simple but you must save your data on pc . Probably a partition manager can do the trick, but at your own risk. Adw themes also doesn't work for me.

On liquid E you can try the large memory settings of v6 scripts, it will work. The wiki instructions are only for a1.

Finally my Liquid works perfect

I did this:

- wipe all;

- flash with 4.002.14.EMEA.GEN1_A22F_A_256 and reboot,

- install malez recovery and reboot;

- power off then power on into recovery;

- wipe all;

- format sd card with 512 mb ext2 and 256 swap;

- flash LiquidNext 1.8 and reboot

- skip Google account and reboot again;

- install LNP and reboot.

Now everything works great. No more problems with Wifi and A2sdgui works fine.

Now I will try kaerry parameters to see Liquid behaviour and see how battery behaves

Can you apply themes with icons in ADW launcher settings? That's the only thing that I really want to fix with V6. I hope it will also make the battery issue to go away.

Siggey, thanks for you suggestion, will find time to remove swap altogether tomorrow.
