I wonder if this behaviour can be reproduced by someone else:

after flashing 1.9.2 the phone's display was still causing 30-40% of battery usage, almost 3-4%/hour battery drain, so I started to play CM display settings, hoping for a good mix to reach at least 2%/hour.

I found the battery drain is very low leaving enabled the CM automatic backlight display, 60 seconds window, 10 seconds sampling interval without hysteresis and custom levels.

Now in standby the drain is about 1%/hour (this let me think the high radio battery drain most of us are whining about is a "fake", maybe the root is always the display): today I was at 97% almost 4 hours, display usage about 4%. And every morning is like that, the display battery usage is very low, between 3 and 7%. Some days ago I went back to home after more then 11h with 88% battery: I received just two calls and never used the phone in that timeframe.

Now after some checks in the settings menu I'm at 94% battery level, display jumped to 14% usage. It's always like that, when I start using it or I receive a phone call the display starts eating the battery. Not always, maybe not the first call but the third or fourth it will do it. Yesterday I used Google News to browse some local news over the web (I was at 96%) and the huge battery drain started, almost 5%/hours, when I came back home few hours later the battery was at 14% percent.

I noticed that using the web browser, few seconds is enough, it's always a safe bet that phone starts the huge battery drain. Closing the browser, going in standby does not help, the battery drain will continue until the next AC recharge.

if, you have ptoblem, you must re wipe and,re flash the liquidnest rom... it s not possible i have no problem, in my liquid a1 and liquid e... all is perfect... pay attention to have a clean sd fat partition... this can be reason for more people problem... the only think possible is the battery drain... and this too, is due to personal use of device.

I do in malez recovery in wipe menu . complete wipe incl sd ext

then i refleshed liquidnext agin.

After first boot, configured my goole account, installed liquid next parts, restat my phone, and SDMAN still dnot work!

any ideas to fix it ?

you must do every wipe voice manualy.... you only don't do batt stat and rotate wipe.

Some users, have problem with sdcard, and they format all sdcard, first to re flash Next 1.9.2.... they solve like this.

Ok. I've manged to set 1.9.2 back up again, but didn't move DATA to SD (just apps). This apparently accounts for the lag issue I had.... but noticed something else. When I install a 23 MB app, my internal memory drops 3MB although the data portion for that app is only 250KB. I suspect SDMAN does not move LIB files along with the APK. End result - all my apps don't fit - even on SD. Previous versions this wasn't an issue.

I tried Link2SD again. Worked wonderfully on one of my Acers (with 1.9.2, SDMan disabled), and screwed up the other. It would be wonderful to incorporate that app into this rom as it allows you to 'decide' which apps are on the internal, and which are on external... It also moves LIB files.

Guess for now I'll have to weed through my apps and remove the ones I don't really use. I can always keep the backup with TB until (hopefully) this is corrected in 1.9.?

((EDIT)) Had nothing to do with LIB files. DalvikCache was eating up my internal. I was able to move it with SDMAN Scripttweaker. All is right with the world.

I have the same problem. To have a good battery drain, I often kill applications and don't let them going in standby.

To do that : Setting -> Development -> Stop app via long-press

I'm no android expert but i have a hunch that the internal memory drop is due to Dalvik Cache generated for the app. If an application resides in sd-ext it is interpreted as bring in phone and the cache is generated in phone memory. if you move the app to fat32 partition I think it won't take up the extra space. and if you move dalvik to SD then the phone will become terribly sluggish.

Yes my phone lags when I use sdman. But I have lots of apps so I have to stick with it.

I tried flashing DT A2SD on top of LN 1.9.2. But it screw up all CM settings. I really need a working A2SD script for LN.

Is it possible to have one DT A2SD working on LN 1.9.2? But I just wonder why we need DT or Sdman? Every official CM-supported device use S2E (from market) without any problem. Why we need custom-made A2SD script?

I think I have the same issue, not only with LiquidNext but also with MIUI. Battery drain seems reasonable if left unused, once start using the phone, it starts draining fast.

In addition, I realize that it takes at least 2 min. to connect to the carrier, from I see the home screen, in both ROMs, not sure if that's common as well.

What are the best Values if i use 16 gb card ?

on my Liquid A1, I have original sdcard.... so I do 256 Mb swap, and 512 Mb ext2.

On my Liquid E I have 8 Giga SDcard Class 2.... don't made swap partition.... I made only 1024 Mb ext2.

You can try to do this, that will give you a really clean device:

-using Acertool flash a .bin rom that you can find here,

-install Malez recovery here

-from recovery format sd card, then flash LN

-before installing any app,do a couple reboot

-do not restore system files using Tytanium backup

Hope this can help,good luck

I Have been a few days Liquid E.

Liquidnext 1.9.2 Rom on it. and a 16 GB SD card Sandisk class4.

Still have at home an Android Tablet. a Creative Ziio 10th

What bugs me but I can few things that I have installed on the ZiiO not install on the phone.

No idea why. There is indeed no decent error message during installation, only "no application installed."

On the internal memory so you do not have too much memory ...

have indeed only 39MB free.

And somehow this is f*ck SDMAN not work for me.

I've already re-flashed the ROM 5 times WIPE incl. At the beginning I had the 2 GB SD card that it was, today I've got a new 16BG fetched, have partitioned the recovery in Malez, and after that again refleshed.

Sdman still dnot work....

I mostly use my Tablet Ziio read the ebook, and I read the less of Ivona TTS app.

Since the part is 10 inches and is unwieldy, I want to do it with cell phone.

've installed everything. and tried it, but it is not as LIQUID as the ZiiO.

Also have the CPU overclocked to 921, but it is not like on the tablet.

Someone an idea why this is so? The Ziio has nothing but a 1ghz CPU and 512 mb ram and Android 2.2 on it.

And why SDMAN Does not work for me? Is there ne other alternative to my installed apps on the SD card to move?

Other Questions

Running chainfire3D on Liquid `? or its it worth installing?

How many mhz are good for continuous operation ? 921 or more ?

When will the Stable version released? I wanna get rid of RC-1 Rom with 2.3.4. But battery drain and A2SDGui is the biggest problems for me. I liked A2SDGui SDMan sucks bad...

@AvaThor

I would go with 128 MB Swap and 256 MB ext2

IMHO the problem with using a higher SD-ext size is that it can never be filled fully so any extra space is wasted. Before you can fill 256MB, the phone storage gets low. It is because Dalvik Cache for the apps in SD-ext partition is stored in phone memory. So you end up moving apps from SD-ext to fat32 to free up space when there is already free space on SD-ext.

Moving an app from SD-ext to fat32 also moves its cache from internal memory to fat32, and this is what frees some internal memory and gets rid of the pesky "Phone Storage is getting low" message.

You can move Dalvik cache to SD-ext as well but with anything short of a class 10 card, that will make your phone very unresponsive. Also 128 MB swap is more than enough because it is simply virtual memory space. Having more of it is not really useful and more of it will simply slow down your device again because its located on the slow SD card.

I am having the liquid A1 since June and this is what I understand about it so far.

@steppp

You can get theme chooser themes at xda in the android themes section. Look for CM7 themes. There is also an app in market called "Theme Chooser Themes".

@AvaThor

Well, beats me why SDMAN has issue with some people. Worked for me on the first try. I was skeptical about it when A2SD was dumped but I didnt have any no issues with SDMAN.

You might want to try a different BIN file. I use 4.002.14. Earlier I had 4.504b.00 because it was supposed to be the one with the best battery drain but I used to get weird issues which no one mentioned in the forums.

Apart from that, manually wipe each element rather than "Wipe All". After flashing LN, install LNP, reboot a couple of times manually and then move apps to SD before installing anything else.

I use 16gb class10 card and sometimes device freezes.

Tried some variants, but seems better is formatted into phone without sd-ext and swap.

I'm noticing a bigger battery drain than when I had Froyo 2.2 installed. (phone goes from full to dead in less than 1 day just by being idle)

i've tried tweaking certain things to minimize the battery use like removing the vibration on keypresses and things like that but there's 1 thing i want to change that I can't seem to find in any of the settings and that is the LED on the top that notifies you of Messages it flashes fairly rapidly. on Froyo 2.2 it was a very short and distant flash and was wondering if that can be changed?

and any other suggestions on things that can help save battery usage?

Hello,

I Need help ...my liquid is blocked in flight mode.

I can ' t deactivate the mode inside wireless menu .

I had the 1.9.2 perfectly working for more than a month, and without any kind of connection issues.

Android 2.1've had my phone when I bought it.

After this I've just installed Malez Recover and Liquidnex 1.9.2
