With ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) on the way what's the point of developing VegaComb? Because by the time it's ready so will ICS.

The iPad is a nice piece of kit and admittedly if it had been the same price as the Vega I would have gone for the iPad. Some apps on the iPad are just not available on Android. And I am no Apple fanboi either.

Good point, thanks for pointing that out, we'll stop development now!

Do me a favour Phil. If you think that the the Vega is an Ipad; then go buy and Ipad! If you want to stop members/devs working to make the Vega better than an Ipad; carry on like you are and go and buy an Ipad.

Lmao, don't gang up on him, I was only joking :D But waiting for someone else to do things isn't the way that development in a community like this works!

If we all sat on our asses waiting for the next thing to come out, we'd never have anything new and exciting B)

Cheers lol.

No, the Vega is better than an iPad and it's less than half the price the iPad. I must admit that the VegaComb is a brilliant piece of work which for me I don't think too far off being finished. What Newbe5 and Corvus and the rest of the team have done is nothing short of fantastic in a short space of time.

I wasn't slagging off the Vega why should I, having owned one for nearly 3 months and I must admit Advent haven't really done much of support, if it wasn't for Modaco the Vega probably wouldn't have a future.

have you seen the andyPad?

Its nowhere near as good as the Vega, they are talking about a resistive screen ,a 7 inch screen, less ram etc etc so it will be a niche product for a specific market unless they change. Paul has written a great piece on the andypad forum

Yes, the business press is saying that RIM are in decline unless they can do something radical.

I think there is a future for the Vega and I think I will be keeping mine at least for the rest of the year.

I don't feel a desperate need for a faster cpu or more ram. However, I would change for a better screen, especially if I also got better audio.

Tbh i never really liked RIM, i thought there products were good but overrated.

Yeh i think that the screen could be one of the reasons it may be left behind in the future :)

As I said in the thread about Paul talking with advent I think that the vega needs the development. A lot of credit to the guys on here that have made it more useable, just knowing about these boards led to me buying my vega but id be very tempted by the new archos g9s if they work like they should. They're claiming android 3.1, 1.5ghz cpu and 250gb for £250 which in theory will outdo our vegas, but time will tell I suppose

Well they are getting android market compatability with the playbook within a few months
