Any news on if the battery life is still as good as GSF considering the 30% increase?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm using GSF and just saw this thread. Was wondering:

- What are the differences between this ROM and the Ginger stir fry?

- Does the battery life performs better in this ROM than GSF?

- System performance more responsiveness?

By the way the theme looks great smile.gif

Thanks.

battery life might be a tiny bit less than gsf, but it should still be good :)

btw: thanks everybody for the kind responses :)

Thats not quite true... GSF still has the best battery life performance so far, but those 2 roms are very very close in that area :)

btw, comparing GSF b16 with Blue Ginger v5, i dont see much of performance gain, and 30% performance increase should be noticable... Did you all noticed anything? cause i might have a bad flash or something. I did a full wipe etc though before flashing

If you need more kind responses: you've got one from me too. Looks nicer than V4 and everything works, also turning data on and of without rebooting.

Great work!

try gaming and playing music with the screen off, thats a difference

also, it's up to 30%, depending on the app, and some apps didn't get any gain at all while testing, while others were much more fluent

Oooooooooooh, just changed to this ROM and Psyloid, it's freaking fast!! Great work!!

I forgot to do a full wipe though ( I was on GSF b15 before) but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. If it does, I guess I'll just reinstall with a full wipe.

But it's insanely fast and comes with launcher Pro! I haven't tried out GSF b16 yet, but this is blazing fast.

Great ROM, thanks. v5.

One thing - i am curious how you increased it up to 30% ?

what are ways of doing that ?

You dont have source code of new kernel because it is not available yet (i am also curious why it is not available if android is open source)

Do you inject some modules into kernel at realtime ? i dont know....

Do you know if it is possible to install LUKS MANAGER ? it is possible to add dm crypt support to kernel ?

Because now LUKS manager is saying: /dev/mapper is inactive.

Will V6 be based on GSF b16? It has certain improvements like chainsaw 3D and all.

Thanks for the great ROM :)

I have the same problem, but haven't succeeded with same solution sad.gif.

I don't have the Google Market App, and I can't seem to sign in to my Google Account either (I do have web connectivity).

Tried using clockwork to wipe cache, dalvik, and full-wipe... but phone is still the same.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

I've been testing it out all day, and for me this is the sort of ROM which makes me feel like I might just quit Modaco and get on with my life! It does everything well, and I haven't found any bugs. It's fast/smooth and looks good. Battery life seems fine, although I never had a problem with battery life on the previous version of Blue Ginger or Ginger Stir Fry.

One question. On the list of changes in V5, Psyloid says: 'Added modified hosts (latest) file for an almost ad-free phone.' How does this work? Is it a host-list used by an ad-blocker application, or does the ROM somehow use the host-list directly? (I don't have an ad-blocker installed right now, so I'm wondering what to do to make use of this function. I'm still getting ads on Angry Birds, although I can lose them by disconnecting from the internet.)
