Guest Kuoi Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 I didn't think I could find better then GSF , ... but I did . I was busy with GSF B16 and did a full reinstall , but on my daily modaco trip , I came up here. Because of the new version and good comments I've decided to test Blue Ginger V5. Waaauw !!!!!!!!!!!! I'm impressed. VERY fast ! imo battery life is BETTER than GSF . To be fair , I have to do some more test ; but "at first sight" I'm VERY IMPRESSED !
Guest azentner Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 I have the same problem, but haven't succeeded with same solution . I don't have the Google Market App, and I can't seem to sign in to my Google Account either (I do have web connectivity). Tried using clockwork to wipe cache, dalvik, and full-wipe... but phone is still the same. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. I just found a description of my exact problem in this other thread: "Google account issue" Perhaps it can shed some more light on the problem...
Guest kogos Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) ...i could not get it to work decently (yet), so i am gonna upload V5 minus statusbar widget this does not mean that i give up completely, i WILL fix this. It's personal now :P.... ....it will be for V6 Keep in mind that there are some of us that dont wanna see the power widget in notification bar, so i guess it'd be good if there'll be an option/way to remove it once its released btw, since V5 is based on GSF14, is the framework further modified in any way? If not, i guess all themes of GSF14 will work with blue ginger V5? Edited July 28, 2011 by kogos
Guest Peter H Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Seems smooth but won't let me restore my launcher pro screens and icons only the doc is restored. Gone back to CMG.
Guest evilbrain Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Seems smooth but won't let me restore my launcher pro screens and icons only the doc is restored. Gone back to CMG. Dude, is that a reason to refuse using the best rom today?
Guest JT_daniel Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 To each his own preference, I guess. :P Meh, I'm loving it.
Guest kogos Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) ...One thing - i am curious how you increased it up to 30% ? what are ways of doing that ? You dont have source code of new kernel because it is not available yet (i am also curious why it is not available if android is open source) Do you inject some modules into kernel at realtime ? i dont know.... +1 to that... i'm also curious what methods are used to increase performance. It'll sure help future development. Edited July 28, 2011 by kogos
Guest Amit.V Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 is there a solution to the problem with skype working only through the speaker?
Guest kogos Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 is there a solution to the problem with skype working only through the speaker? modified skype for zte blade to solve the loudspeaker issue
Guest skeewiff Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) is there a solution to the problem with skype working only through the speaker? This happens too with viber in the zte blade Edited July 28, 2011 by skeewiff
Guest Kuoi Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Seems smooth but won't let me restore my launcher pro screens and icons only the doc is restored. Gone back to CMG. That's a very good reason to go back to cmg :D Bugs, FC's , much worse battery , not running this smooth , not running this fast ... but launcher pro will be restored (hopefully) . Go to sleep , think about it ...and get Blue Ginger V5
Guest fioglenu Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Performance is really impressive, but it seems battery drained faster than CM Green V5. Even that I think this is one of the best ROM I have ever tried! Nice work, thanks!
Guest kogos Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 suggestion: on next release use the update latinime.apk... it has more languages in it. And there is a bug with unlock sliders going grey... this used to be on GSF b13 and its kinda resolved by now
Guest Psyloid Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Seems smooth but won't let me restore my launcher pro screens and icons only the doc is restored. Gone back to CMG. if you wanna get rid of that : download any other temporary launcher, then remove lp with titanium backup. now install lp again from market, install lp unlocker. then remove temporary launcher. that should work
Guest ufizo Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 I can have the HOSTS file? (dont want to download the ROM right now..)
Guest Talvathir Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 If you're think your battery drains too quickly, give JuiceDefender a try.
Guest XpressAndy Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) I'm not able to unlock Launcher Pro! has anybody manged to unlock it? I tried un-installing it with launcher pro and reinstall. But it fails. EDIT: tried again with titanium and it works. Edited July 28, 2011 by XpressAndy
Guest Talvathir Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 I'm not able to unlock Launcher Pro! has anybody manged to unlock it? I tried un-installing it with launcher pro and reinstall. But it fails. No problems here. Any error messages?
Guest XpressAndy Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 Uploading it now. I find Mediafire fast. Edit: ZTE Dialer version with the Engineering Mode added. Use this if your screen goes black during a call as it has a way to calibrate the proximity sensor. Type *983*0# into the ZTE Dialer, scroll to sensors and press Calib. Download: http://www.wuala.com...E%20Dialer.zip/ I haven't tested it myself because I'm on CM7. It should be fine though. Do I need to wipe while switching back to AOSP version? Could you please list down the steps? Thanks in advance :)
Guest magikstar29 Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 is this rom support french language?
Guest k0zmic Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) Do I need to wipe while switching back to AOSP version? Could you please list down the steps? Thanks in advance :) Yeah, unfortunately you need to do a full wipe/factory reset in Recovery. If you don't you're likely to get a lot of force closes. It's basically like installing an entirely new ROM. Edit: Scratch that, you should be able to just re-flash the AOSP ROM over it, again haven't tested myself. Edited July 28, 2011 by k0zmic
Guest Dariusn Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 hi, thanx for superfast ROM (comparing to CM7) I'm not sure if it's a bug, but: push button Menu > Preferences > General Settings > Motorola Droid hack :D i'm not sure that it supposed to be there :)

Guest Psyloid Posted July 28, 2011 Report Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) any news about these things from the developer? especially the first quote is what interests me most... you can set code to run on bootup that modifies some kernel values. I played with Ram settings and cpu settings, although someone pointed me out that the cpu settings are not working. So at the moment its the improved ram settings that give the performance boost. some apps are really happy with this and run up to 30% faster. most notably some games are now fluent instead off choppy. for other apps which are more cpu bound, there is no increase over stock GSF Edited July 28, 2011 by Psyloid
