Guest Yuccaman Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Btw... what's with the Videos app? It doesn't show up under any system/app at all and cannot be removed (I use MX player instead because Videos is constantly crashing after you exit a file). Any way to remove thay particular eye-sore? I wondered what that was as well and its part of the stock Music app, so if you remove Music, Videos will also vanish......
Guest domerator Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 A good option to have custom apps in ur ROM during installation : Open the ROM zip, go to system->app-> just select and delete what ever apps u wud not be using so that they are never installed, then flash this on to ur mob... I have removed gmail, email, fmradio, default browser, and even mms (all other unwanted apps).. cuz i neva use them. gmail i check rarely so i have opera with a page for gmail, and go sms for messages... saves a hell lot of inbuilt memory this way.. and if i have to take app backup,u can install titanium just then thru an apk, take backup and uninstall it.... As I know not really.... deleting these apps results in just a smoother run but you will have the same size of data partition.. to gain more room in phone memory you should re-partition the phone according to the actual unzipped size of then rom after the apps deleted from it. Repartition can increase data partition for your apps to be installed later.

I have been waiting to ask that for quite some time. could u provide a detailed set of steps how to repartition the phone memory... also could u explain how to do S2E custom the ext partition I created doesn't show up anywhere in cw... Hi I am not an expert therefore I made all my partitioning jobs so far based on a Hungarian description and links... which are useless for you I guess:) To give you the basics please google: ZTE Blade partitioning or similar and read all you can before do anything (try to understand what you would do or at least make clear the process steps in your mind) Read thiy also: Search modaco for wbaw's partitioning and gen1-gen2 flash ... he is a professional. Last but not least ask him if there is something unclear for you. Partitioning is not hard but can be dangerous if you are in a hurry or do something against the desriptions and.... there is another very important: have a good and healthy PC! A PC with a wreck Windows XP on it, full of cleaners, process controls, useless progs, unreliable USB, etc. is an obvious way to make paperweight from your Blade for sure. Have a good PC or laptop ... this is the first stage of the good phone partitioning and flashing.
Guest macooz Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 I have a question, I'm about to install this ROM but I would like to have the original ZTE radio and the other applications that has been removed. Could I install the ZTE Apps Addon for GSF on this ROM ? When to install the addon? right after I've installed Blue Ginger? before the first reboot?

I think you could do it before the first reboot, not sure though.
Guest DVDeus Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) I have tried packet data, and it's about the same speed. No problems for now. Regarding battery life, no imporvments. It discharges quickly once below 20%, which was not the case on the FLB Froyo R10. Edited August 8, 2011 by DVDeus
Guest deksman2 Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 After flashing a new rom, I allow the battery to be drained down to 0 and the phone to shut itself off. Once that's been done, I recharge it while it's off and that's it. Battery life it fine after that.
Guest Shapetsau Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Nice one, I got 905 points on Quadrant with this rom! :)
Guest DVDeus Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Is there any difference flashing from CyanogenMod 7.03 to Blue Ginger? Phone was Gen1 originally and flashed to Gen2 (I guess not by wbaw TPT method).
Guest FrankyG Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Won't connect to at HSPDA speeds - only GPRS. Wiped everything before flashing. Thats the only issue for me - but it's a deal breaker. Going back to Green V5.
Guest okornel Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 Guys, does Blue Ginger V5 have USB host?

Guest Loki86 Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 version v5 has kallt_kaffe's gps fix?
Guest wbaw Posted August 12, 2011 Report Posted August 12, 2011 version v5 has kallt_kaffe's gps fix? unless psyloid changed it, then yes.
Guest evilbrain Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 version v5 has kallt_kaffe's gps fix? maybe he tweaked it, because it fixes in about two seconds, indoors smth about 10 secs
Guest awsom50 Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I cannot update gmail to the latest version from the market. Any suggestions?
Guest wbaw Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 maybe he tweaked it, because it fixes in about two seconds, indoors smth about 10 secs He turned on intermediate positioning (changed a 0 to a 1 in gps.conf), it makes it seem faster, but that's because it's much less accurate. It causes bugs with apps that accept the first position that gps gives as it can be hundreds of miles away if the signal is bad.
Guest deksman2 Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 I cannot update gmail to the latest version from the market. Any suggestions? I know. That's a bit of an issue with this ROM (a couple other apps do the same). It's possible Psyloid didn't finish this properly and would have fixed it in v6. Anyway... simply remove Gmail application and download the latest one from the Market. Simple. Granted, you will lose Psyloid's gmail icon in that case and will be replaced with the stock google one, but I personally didn't mind. One more thing... the ES File Explorer is also quite old. I recommend removing it and replacing it with the newest version from the market. Sounds can also go (it will also remove the Videos app which constantly crashes upon exiting the video). I installed Winamp and MX Video Player (both of which I find better - well, the MX video player is quite superior as it offers HW acceleration, plus it's the best out there if I'm not mistaken).

Guest Carbonize Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 All the changes are actually in the gps.conf file and not to the gps app it's self.
