Weird issues:

ADTv1.2.82->flash 3.0.12 bin->success->

play around with the stock 2.3.4, and it hangs on homescreen :) , i move on anyway->

flash recovery->flash gingerounary->update completed->

hangs on recovery screen :rolleyes: ,and i remove battery and put in back->

get into android

i'm just afraid that there is somthing wrong during the flashing process...

Anyone have any luck clearing the /cache folder yet? I'm curious as to why the allocated space shows 100% use yet there is nothing in the folder itself (aside from the lost+found directory). Could it possibly be a partition issue? Is it possible to blow away the partitions on the phone and recreate them or am I asking for a whole new world of trouble?

So I've been trying to find ways to remove this entire folder and possibly rebuild it, which I think is the only option. as this output shows, its not the lost+found directory thats causing the issue:

# ls -al

ls -al

drwxrwxrwx 1 1000 2001 4096 Jun 28 21:51 ←[1;34m.←[0m

drwxr-xr-x 14 1000 1000 0 Jun 28 21:51 ←[1;34m..←[0m

drwxrwx--- 1 0 0 4096 Jun 28 21:51 ←[1;34mlost+found←[0m

# du

du

4 ./lost+found

8 .

whatever that middle file/directory/space hog is, thats what needs to go in order to clear our cache. It seems like the recovery (pre 2.0) has left a corrupted file or fragment in the cache directory. If we could somehow change the permissions on the entire cache folder, we may be able to delete the entire thing and start fresh. Is there anyone here savvy with linux enough to walk me through changing the permissions on the cache folder?

Optionally if someone could send me SHHDroid so I can install it, I can SHH to my phone and try to manage it that way. Its a free download but of course I cannot download from the market :)

I CAN install from my SD card which I guess is a bonus.

This is ANNOYING as hell tho!

most of the time, permissions are changed by a simple ''chmod'' on linux console, followed by +-= { r w x } and definition of users (UGOA = users, group, others, all)

here's the wiki about the correct syntax, maybe this can help :

http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chmod

hope this can be of use

Thx. Ive also found a command for when the system cache & dev folders become corrupt. I'm almost to the point now of just wgoing the entire phone and starting fresh. My girlfriend has the same phone so I have a reference anyway.

The command is:

Fastboot erase system -w

Ill be trying that later today too.

i think we can't solve problem

when we flash a now rom that files automatically should be overwritten but this don't happen

maybe there's a block memory in that section

it would an expert linux programmer to analize these operations

Google ? (Acer Iconia Smart) :)

ClearFi is a Acer DLNA app (also avalaible on Iconia Tab).

Iconia Smart is the next Android Acer Smartphone. (also know as S300 or A5)
