Guest vikings123 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 It works. Quadrand 1480 not bad
Guest spicysomtam Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 Hi, I am new to the Liquid MT although this is the fourth Andriod I have had (G1, Blade, Z71, now this). Blade was good, but got nicked in Indonesia :( Z71 ok, ish (it works on 850Mhz 3G in Thailand which is what I use it for). Metal using in the UK. I can reboot into recovery using adb boot recovery, but is there no key sequence to do it? If not I assume you get some app to allow you to boot into recovery? If so, anyone have a recommend? I did the acer_ug from 2.2 to 2.3.4 (3.027.01 gen1 emea) then applied the 2.2 recovery. Since I am running the Acer rom, they don't have a reboot into recovery option like CM, etc. Many thanks in advance, especially for the recovery build. :)
Guest TechnoLover Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 key combination for recovery is the following: Volume Up + Volume Down + Focus + Power => Release Focus & press it again, otherwise download "Quick Boot" because the key combination is quite hard..
Guest spicysomtam Posted September 26, 2011 Report Posted September 26, 2011 Thanks for the key combo.
Guest Tahitibob Posted October 2, 2011 Report Posted October 2, 2011 Hi all, I just installed the leak 4.000.07 on my Liquid Metal. Then I wanted to install the recovery 2.2 in order to install Ginger_dmd_4.000.07_aosp. But when I launch "install_recovery.cmd" my computer does not find my device. Please notice that I obviously activated Debug USB on my phone. I also want to say that I have already installed the recovery many times for all the custom ROMs and it always worked fine. I use the same PC (win 7 64bits). I have rebooted my phone several times. Does anyone has an idea ? Thanks in advance

Guest k0zmic Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 It's not an app for your phone. You use it before you boot up your phone to flash ROM's. Boot into recovery mode using Volume Up + Volume Down + Focus (Press Camera button Gently) + Power

Boot into recovery mode using Volume Up + Volume Down + Focus (Press Camera button Gently) + Power thanx bro ur help.. As i said, i m using adriod 2.2 stock which comes with my phone. I m from india, AAP. I tried as u said but phone is stucking at startup, coming just acer and black screen. What to do now ? I m using 2.2 recovery. 2.0 recovery link is dead. . Also plz tell me, can i use custom roms by vach etc which are made from EMEA rom and i m from AAP region. Whats procedure for it ? I download official 2.3 of emea from acer site. Can i use it ? What is use of acer download tool ? How to use it ? I saw one thread by vach which have many versions of acer download tool, but now i cant find it, plz link me to that thread. . Custom roms thread says use official emea first then flash with custom rom wich base on emea. Can i use aap instead of emea then custom rom which are based on emea ? . If custom rom is based on older version of fw, like Acer_LiquidMT_3.026.01_EMEA-GEN1_03.26.02.zip, then can i use that custom rom on OS_Acer_4.000.07.EMEA.GEN1_A23G_A.zip ? . How to extraxt image from official fw zip so that i can use it in sd download mode ? Its all exe there. . I know, i m asking too much.. Sorry. . Thanx in advance.. Guest krovatka Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Finally, here it is. Version 2.2 that fix partitions mounting and nandroid backup/restore. Only for last 2.3.4 bin. (3.021.01) For older 2.3.3, use the v2.0. How to install : Activate Debug USB on your phone. Plug your phone to your computer with your USB cable. Unzip the "RecoveryMT-2.2" folder from the zip file. Launch "install_recovery.cmd". Download Link : http://vache-android.com/files/Metal/recov...overyMT-2.2.zip Report here any issues you may have. I have gingerbread 2.3.5 installed on an Acer Liquid Metal. Recovery MT-2.2 hangs after the 3 coloured squares appear saying wait, windows slow.. well, after 30 minutes and still nothing my guess is, it is not going to work. So, I tried getting Version 2.0 from the link but this produces an error of "invalid download link" :-( Could we have a new link please....
Guest TechnoLover Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 3 coloured squars? are you really in recovery or in fastboot mode? are you sure, you have installed Recovery or do you want to install recovery?

You need to find the appropriate forum for your device. I'd suggest looking on XDA or Samdroid.

Guest sambartle Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Anyone tried 3.0 yet? Any news about what's updated/new? I'm new to the LiquidMT (just got it yesterday) but i'll give it a go tonight.

Guest SybNl Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 It doesnt work for me.. The installation of OS_Acer_4.000.13.EMEA.GEN1_A23G_LiquidMT (official) and RecoveryMT-3.0 went fine. Till i tried to install a custom rom. When i'm trying to open recovery via the key combo i'll get an android standing in a triangle with a exclamation point, also tried opening recovery via quickboot. But the app closes when i hit recovery. Anyone knows what went wrong? Already reinstalled both the os and recovery and did a wipe via the os itselfe (including sd card)
Guest astuermer Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 I did a nandroid backup with v3.0 but... It's over 1 GB in size!!! android_secure.img 420mb android.img 448mb boot.img 5mb cache.img 0mb data.img 117mb nandroid.md5 0mb recovery.img 5mb system.img 164mb these files are stored after a backup in CWM in clockworkmod/backup/2011-11-04 I have a 16 gb microsd, fat32 formatted, no ext or so. any idea?

Guest SybNl Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) During the installation it said that it was all "okay" or something.. But suppose that it isnt installed at all, how can i install it properly? I mean, you can't do anything more that starting the install_recovery right? EDIT Also tried to reinstall the acer driver but withouth anny positive effect. Some more info: When i do the key combo, it looks like it wants to start (unzipping the box figure) but then i get the android standing next to a triangle figure and i'm stuck (need to remove the battery) Anyone?
