Problem....help

Right guys, Ive come up to see another mate of mine, and I left my phone in my bag, so i tried his O2 sim on it (instead of the orange sim), but I dont have the charger with me to try the sim unlocking trick. It came up asking for his pin number, then after that had been entered it asked for the sim unlock code or something. Would this suggest that the phone is not blocked and working, or would it still do these things if it was blocked and only stop the phone from getting a signal once it was on its mian screen

It might be worth a try doing the sim-swap trick.

The SIM unlock code that comes up probably refers to the fact that it is still locked to the orange network. You can only get the unlock code from orange.

You can only get the unlock code from orange.

For a cost and also you will need the origional owners details as well

as you have bought it secondhand.

Ok guys, thanks for all your help, Ive obviously been done over. Might as well throw it away.

Anyway, Im still thinking of getting an SPV now that I have seen the stuff it can do. I know Orange are doing a good offer. Do you think its still wise to get this phone. Is there better ones due out or do you think this phone will stay one of the most Technalogical phones out for a long time yet???

Russ (anyone selling one!!!!)

You sau you bought the phone from a friend?

I would imagine that it has been registered in his name then.

You can call Orange to find out if it is blocked, but that is as far as it will go.

They won't tell you anything else, DPA

Sounds to me like the Phone has been stolen.

You will NOT get the phone working as the phone will be barred from ALL networks from within the phones IMEI number so im sorry to say but your phone is useless.

My house was broken into three days ago and they took my phone and charger/USB cradle (as well as a few other things) and i rang Orange up straight away and told them and they put the phones SIM card and the actual phone istself on barred so for the person that stole my phone it is totally useless. (ha ha to you thief!! :) )

Obviously he is an idiot as most people that have an Orange SPV will be on contract so with this in mind a simple call to Orange like i did will render the phone useless. Well maybe not as some people may buy one thinking they can use it but they will be sorely disapointed and will lose out on the money they hand over for a unfunctional phone.

The IMEI number can lock the phone but you could post the IMEI number and maybe people try something...

Hi Guys

I called orange about a SPV off ebay I might buy and gave them the IMEI number and they said there was not a problem. I also gave them the IMEI number of the one I got and they said thay had no details for it, he thinks it would of come up stolen if it was.

What do you think mate???

Why would it not have any details???

Russ

Orange can tell you if the IMEI is blacklisted or if they have details for it, that does not break the DPA.

But like I said before, they will not un-blacklist it for you, nor give you any other details. Take my word for it, I work there
