i8000 SD Card installation problem

So, I decided to give Android on Omnia 2 a try. I want to install to a 2GB SD Card. Here's what I did:

1. Downloaded beta2_1024.zip dated 2011-02-11 and extracted to root of My Storage

2. Downloaded 2D/3D drivers, copied to root of My Storage as 02b2update.tar.gz

3. Formatted the card via Samsung Settings

4. run haret.exe using default.txt script

Now linux boots and it gets to a point where it reads:

Waiting 2sec before mounting root device...


mmc1: new high speed SD card at address 0007


mmcblk1: mmc1:0007 2GU1D 1.82 GiB


mmcblk1:


VFS: Cannot open root device "mmcblk1p2" or unknown-block(179,10)


Please append a correct "root=" boot option:


here are the available paritions:

b305        7503872 mmcblk0p5


b306          524286 mmcblk0p6


b308        1908736 mmcblk1 driver: mmcblk 


Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,9)

and there it stops.

From what I understand, it doesn't see the FAT32 partition on SD Card and therefore can't boot. But if I change "mmcblk1p2" to "mmcblk1" in default.txt, it goes on, but soon I get a "kernel panic - no init found" message and the installation stops.

I don't want to try "mmcblk0p5", which I assume is My Storage, because I don't want to lose My Storage contents.

Can someone tell what I am doing wrong and how to fix this?

A small update:

I used an Ubuntu 11.04 virtual machine to format the SD Card as ext2 with Gparted. This helped a little bit, since not the installer recognizes the partition, but it still hangs up, just a little later:

mmc1: new high speed SD card at address 0007


mmcblk1: mmc1:0007 2GU1D 1.82 GiB


 mmcblk1: p1


VVFS: mounted root (ext2 filesystem) on device 179:9


Freeing init memory: 140K

Failed to execute /init. Attempting defaults...


 Kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init= option to the kernel.

What to do now?

I'm also new in this but I'm success to install before, just check my below answer if it can help you.

- I think the file name should be 02b3update.tar.gz

4. run haret.exe using default.txt script

- There are 2 haret.exe in different folder. The first time you should run haret.exe inside the folder o2beta for the installation. After that use the haret.exe at the root directory of My Storage

--> Hence, if you run the wrong haret.exe at the root of My Storage. I suggest you format the SD card again (format the card via Samsung Settings was ok to me). Run the haret.exe inside "o2beta" directory. After install and reboot, make sure 02b3update.tar.gz coped to root directory of My Storage and run haret.exe at the same root directory.

I'm not using Froyo, so I named the file 02b2... anyway, thanks a lot for your help, it worked.

Now I need to get the system sorted out... I get a lot of messages like

Sorry!

<insert process name here> is not responding.

Force close / Wait

and the whole thing moves like a lazy slug... :(
