You say that it doesnt work in MIUI...I am just wondering has anyone gotten this to work? Also, there are two downloads...one for CM7 and one for kernel 2.3.3 Am I correct in assuming this probably wont work for us on 2.3.5?
Guest big_raji Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Just wanted to start off by saying I absolutely love this rom (v103) and use it daily now! Thanks Trip! I'm having a few problems, and I hope nobody takes these as unappreciative complaints. Built-in tether doesn't work (as I read already in this thread) but I'm also unable to install/run any 3rd party tether programs. I've tried Barnacle Wi-Fi Tether and WiFi Tethering from OpenGarden. Both asked for root permissions, but there were multiple errors afterwards like "Can't create /usr/bin/blahblah" and stuff like that. I tried booting into XRecovery and tried "Fix Permissions" but had no success. Any recommendations? Do I need to install Busybox? Other 3rd party tethers that work?I couldn't find support for Aliases for outgoing GMail messages. In stock and CM7, when composing an email there is a dropdown in the "From" field that lists all your aliases for the Gmail account. In this ROM, it only lists your base Gmail accounts and nothing else. Anyone have a solution to this? Is it somewhere else?App2sd doesn't seem to work for me. I have a single FAT partition on my SD card now, since stock Gingerbread supports App2sd on a single FAT partition. Does this ROM still require an ext partition on the SD to get it to work?

I've used iMediaShare on my buddy's Sony internet TV without a hitch on this ROM.
Guest SourceCode Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Are people still having issues with data re-connects on this ROM? For me the problem is – once 3G/Data drops out, it does not reconnect automatically by itself. 3G/Data icon is still present but data does not work. The only way to get it working again is to then manually disable and then re-enable data or reboot the phone. Anyone else having this same issue, or has anyone managed to find a solution for this? Thanks :)
Guest cjsabaki Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 @sourcecode, try Trips Miui 1.8.19 from miui android, no issues!! Also someone said if you enter the firewall app settings, turn off filter n firewall it gets better?? Best regards, Chris Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI-1.8.19 using Tapatalk

Best regards, Chris Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI-1.8.19 using Tapatalk Hi Chris - thanks for your response. Unfortunately I have the same problem in 1.8.19 (current running this). I have also turned off the Firewall. So I presume you don't have the same problem...? I understand the 3G/Data "dropouts" are less in this (1.8.19) ROM, but my main problem is that data does not re-connect automatically once it loses connection. Thanks mate! I had the same problem about once a day, but I think the firewall toggle solved it. Too soon to say for sure. Are there any apps you can find that can do an hourly data reconnect? I think Tasker can do it.
Guest big_raji Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Wow, facebook isn't in the list of apps to password protect in "guard" mode?

Hi SourceCode, I have exactly the same issue. The 3G drop outs are frequent for me as well when using BB71 and it never reconnects. That is the same for Trips 100, 101, 102 and 103 Iris roms. It is also the same for 1.8.19 stock miui as well. I posted a thread over at the miui android forums about changing the BB from 71 (thanks for the reply on that one). I am yet to try your advice but hope to do it tonight and then try using either 67 or 61 BB to see if it is any better. Right now I am running the stock standard SE rom that I flashed last night and the 3G data is very steady. I wanted to test it to ensure that I didnt have an issue with my phone. So I am not 100% sure what is the cause but I am very keen to be running Trips rom again. I just need to ensure I can get steady 3G. Here's hoping.

Thanks mate :) Yes would be great to have this issue sorted. I am on baseband 67 and still have this issue, so looks like baseband 71 (or any baseband in general) is not the culprit. Wondering if the libraries/files in this ROM used for 3G/Data is causing this... If I knew what file(s) are used for 3G/Data then I can try replacing them with files from an earlier Trip Gingerbread ROM that did not have this issue... Not sure if that'll work or if its that easy, but would be worth a shot :) Cheers. Edited August 22, 2011 by SourceCode
Guest BuglyAstard Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 I would just like to report that with 1.8.19 and baseband 67 I have had zero data problems and this is day 2, the longest Ive went in awhile without flashing a new rom, no need to this is superb. I havent had any problems except a fc in settings I cant remember what I was doing but no big deal.

Hi BuglyAstard - Can you please try this, or have you tried this? - Enter an area that has NO SERVICE for 3G or doesn't have any network connectivity. Now, get back into an area where you get normal service + 3G. Does you Internet work straightaway? Or do you have to now disable and re-enable data for Internet? In my case (MIUI 1.8.19 + BB 67), with the above scenario, I have to disable and re-enable data to get my Internet working again. Thanks guys!

It seems strange though that I am running BB71 right now with the SE stock rom (which sucks) but I dont get any 3G issues whatsoever. Moving around, dropping into no service areas and back out do not cause any issues. Your point about a possible issue with source libraries could be a fair one. I would have thought that if BB71 was the culprit I would experience issues with any rom.
