During the day the lower back of the phone starts overheating and at the sametime the battery drains really quickly. the battery itself doesn't overheat. If I plug it into a USB port to charge it, it gets so hot that the charging stops. I tried charging it turned off with the same results. I was running LiquidNext ROM 1.5.3, upgraded to 1.7 and downgraded to stock froyo (flashed .bin) with the same problem in all of them. The overheating seems to be less at night and early in the morning. I also tried cleaning it with a blower, but could only do it from the outside. Don't have the right tools to disassemble it. Guest dguerre Posted August 16, 2011 Report Share Posted August 16, 2011 I have determined that this overheating only happens when I have mobile data turned on. If I turn data off the phone behaves normally but the moment I turn it on, it starts to feel warm and the battery drains faster. Wi-fi works with no problems.
