Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I came across this by accident by holding the menu button down, during thh bottanimation, I think, causing the phone to vibrate... While in safe mode, user apps aren't in the app drawer. However user data for system apps is still there. Interestingly, I can still access user apps via shortcuts on my homescreen (that were there before safe mode) and by long pressing home (which launches a custom app) On Cm7...
Guest doogsville Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 cool! You have to hold the menu button down till it boots to the animation and vibrates though, if you let go of the menu button too soon it doesn't work.
Guest popoyaya Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 What can you do in safe mode that you couldn't otherwise do?
Guest Mushroom_Lord Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 What can you do in safe mode that you couldn't otherwise do? Have a little bit of text which says safe mode in the bottom left? I think its supposed to block user apps or something, only apps in /system/ show. I guess if you bork up your system with user apps and need to fix it, without a computer etc, then you can use safe mode to get rid of your doing, etc. Kind of searching for an answer myself :P
Guest elinx Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 same here. I wonder if it only works on CM7? Not only CM7 I'm running GSF B27 with Burstlam's kernel 2.52 and save mode is working for me.
