Guest Chris_67 Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Yeah, same here. Thought this was because of 2.3.7 (apps not compatible to this version?).
Guest Frankish Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 I've had no issues installing apps. Adw installed just fine. Give me examples of other free apps that will not install? Clean install of v3.
Guest Turisu Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Sorry to repeat; but does anyone know why OMC CM7 still has this bluetooth bug from CM6? http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2136 Was any old code used to get the bluetooth working? In any case the fix is at the bottom of the page in case another build is being worked on. Thanks as this is the only thing keeping this ROM from being perfect for me. :)

Clean install of v3. Most apps work, but some not. Mobo-Player for example doesn't. Worked on Stock, but with CM7 market keeps telling me that it's not compatible (after clean install of V3).
Guest dibbles Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Have you had a look under your devices in your account....? I used to have this problem a lot with my Advent Vega. by default it does not come with a market app. Using a custom ROM and all was fine. Then a while ago Google seemed to make some changes in the way that the device was identified. In fact it was no longer listed under my account and thus the market apps that I bought which were tablet specific would not longer show up, never mind showing as being incompatible. I could browse and see them through the browser but not the market app. Then a few weeks ago something changed and now my Advent Vega is recognised by Google, and listed as a device under my account, and I can now download my paid for apps and other tablet apps - this is also commented on in the Vega section. As you can see the Skate is recognised as follows by Google's market... the above shows the Skate in my account. Below shows it alongside my other Android devices and the MoboPlayer... However Mobo-Player is there for me to download using my Skate and version 3 of the CM 7 ROM. I have noted this happening for some people before when they changed their DPI. Also I have noted it where you have to download a free app first that will download and then log off and check that the device is registered, as shown above. Edited November 24, 2011 by dibbles

Couldn't find "Mobo-Player" in market but if "MoboPlayer" is the same thing then that installed just fine too...
Guest vdubster Posted November 24, 2011 Report Posted November 24, 2011 Would i need to play with partion sizes to install this or just a straight flash from CWM? Thanks James

Flash straight from CWM, don't forget the 3 wipes and you'll need the google apps zip from the cyanogen site too. Edited November 24, 2011 by Christian Edwards
Guest mickyman550 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 I have just managed to install Cyanogen 7 on my Orange Monte Carlo, and everything was working fine. Except that all of my apps had disapeared, including Titanium Backup. I then decided to attempt to restore them through ClockworkMod Recovery. I selected to only "restore data", which seemed to work fine. I then rebooted the device. All it does now is load up the Cyanogen start screen (blue robot with arrow moving in a circle) and keeps playing that over and over in a loop. Is there anything I can do to rescue my phone, or have I killed it?

Try going into CWM and performing a factory reset, then reboot. My guess is that you will find yourself having to reinstall all apps again, though a Titanium Backup might work (don't restore any system information from the original ROM).

I cannot get to CWM because when I turn the phone on it won't get past the loading screen. I selected the "advanced restore" option in CWM and opted to "restore data" from a previous backup I made from my Orange OS. If I can just get to CWM I could attempt a full restore. But I fear I may have bricked it. I can't see what I can do if I can't get past the load screen!

I include details of how I did it, in case anyone else comes across a similar problem. I followed these instructions: (Thanks to Johnny Hung, see thread: ) I think , Have some idea for your status Solution 1 1-1. download the tool package that include root program / recovery image / splash image download link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3QHBRBJ9 1-2 download the Official ROM or any ROM that your want to flash ex:CM7 or BlueMonte .... 2. extract the your pc 3. power off the phone 4. press and hold the VOL down + Home button and then press the POWER button the screen will keep on the splash image (the first screen of power on ) 5. Connect your phone to PC (you need to install the phone driver ,first ) 6. into the folder of the package 7. execute the 0_Install_CWM_recovery.bat (your phone will reboot two time, on the second booting , put out your battery for power off phone) 8. Now, you should be install the CWM-base recovery image , and the into to recovery mode (Hold the VOL down + Power Button) 9. Flash the new ROM ! Instead of flashing a new ROM I simply restored to the original Orange software. After coming so close to bricking my phone I have decided to steer clear of custom ROM's for the time being. It was an interesting learning experience though.
Guest Stu C Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Glad you got it fixed! I've been flashing custom ROMS on my OSF for ages without any problems. Sometimes you need to accept some inconvenience for the sake of safety... e.g. when changing ROM you should manually re-install apps rather than restore. I've just got an OMC now and haven't done anything with it, but I intend on unlocking and adding a custom ROM. I use CM7 on my OSF, so would like the same on the OMC, but this current version seems to have some small bugs remaining. Tilal - any news on if/when you are updating? A version of 257 (or even better, Sej's 257+2) would be sweet :). Are you working to get a formal CM7 port, or save your efforts for a formal CM9 port?
Guest wadexenon Posted November 26, 2011 Report Posted November 26, 2011 Just wanted to say a big thank-you for all the effort on this. I'm using V.3 and must say it's working really well with very few bugs. Couple of small requests/questions if possible: 1. Would it be possible to allow the flash to work as a light in the O.S 2. Does anyone have experience of getting flash and iplayer working (depending on what the beeb are currently fixing/breaking with regard to android accessibility) Thanks

Guest gioranaa Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 If I use the dialer and I compose a number, I can see only the numbers digited and not the contacts that could be related to that numbers... So if I press 262... i can only see 262 and not any BOB or ANA etc etc (my contacts) I hoped to have been clear enough... how could I fix this?
Guest wrtease Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 have you sync contacts with google.

Zte added this to their roms which is nice. You would need to install an alternative dialer such as go contacts or dialer one.

Guest stiefanu Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Put the apk file on your SD card then install it with Astro. I've already tried to extract it and installed it with a file manager, but with no success ..maybe because the apk is taken from a 2.3.5 rom?
Guest Frankish Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 thank you! Have I to unistall the old one or could I keep both? Keeping both is fine.
Guest D3abL3 Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Forgive my question, but.... why do you need a Task Manager after all? Android system can manage its running apps quite good so no need to force close any of 'em as it is not advisable...
