Guest wbaw Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 This is a port from the Orange Monte Carlo (ZTE Skate) to run on the ZTE Blade. It's totally de-branded & customised to be similar to Ginger Stir Fry, a lot of stuff had to be borrowed from GSF to make it work. It has Dolby audio processing. Bluetooth doesn't work. Wifi tether only works with a 3rd party app (included). There may be other bugs. This is my final attempt at this, there will be no further updates or support. Guest hudasp Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Is it possible extract out Dolby audio processing for trying on other ROM´s?
Guest leszekpap Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 wbaw - are there some differences vs gsf b20 ?
Guest wbaw Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) wbaw - are there some differences vs gsf b20 ? It has the new market, new google books, unbranded setup wizard & a few other very small changes. Edited August 17, 2011 by wbaw
Guest Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) Is it possible extract out Dolby audio processing for trying on other ROM´s? the dolby sound is built into the rom(maybe frameworks, not sure). So if possible,it would most likely be difficult. But it would be nice if we had dolby sound ported to cm7,or GSF. Edited August 17, 2011 by Guest
Guest hudasp Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Yes, port this to CM7 ROM would be great.
Guest The Soup Thief Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Nice one wbaw! Any chance anyone could mirror this? Just remembered I have a few uk sums kicking about so I can verify whether or not I get the same roaming force closes with gsf b20 and with this when I roam in Ireland with a UK sim as I did roaming in UK with an Irish sim

Guest The Soup Thief Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 (edited) Here you go http://hotfile.com/d...e-1.00.zip.html would be intereseted to know your results Nice one - thanks CHUMBLY - I'll do some sim switching this evening and will post back There is always the chance that it's an interactional issue between this particular sim and that particular rom, but just to repeat, I have often used the same sim and handset with other roms in the uk and in other countries Edit - tried some experiments (described in the gsf thread) - it looks like it's not a problem when using a UK sim roaming in ireland. So maybe is a peculiarity of the voda ireland sim - they are doing a discount on roaming fees in the uk this summer so maybe its an evil marketing ploy or somesuch Basically not sure if you'll have problems roaming elsewhere - I can only guess not (since UK Orange and T-Mobile sims roam in ireland on b20 without problems) Further edit - loving the ROM wbaw - and great to see that this one's got dobbly! And come to think of it, although wbaw has said similar before I wouldn't expect much more on this This is my final attempt at this, there will be no further updates or support. Guest Cobble Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Sweet. Any chance of a decent mirror for this. Getting like 20kB/s from Hotfile
Guest ThrashMan Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 wbaw - can I install this on gsfb20 or fullwipe is necessary ? All ROMs come with a "no wipe = no whine" policy. So if you do put this over the top of gsf b20 and it doesn't work......no one will care! Why don't you just backup and have a go!? See what happens....take a gamble......live life on the edge. Grow some!!
Guest killthatwha Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Does the Dolby Audio Processing make songs sound noticeably better?
Guest unmukt Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Does the Dolby Audio Processing make songs sound noticeably better? Yes.... a lot more clear and crisp!!!
Guest schuif Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 I don't use bluetooth anyway so this ROM is perfect for me! thanks wbaw
Guest oldfella Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 loaded OK over b20 without a full wipe
