Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) Racerboy: This image is using deadlink's kernel that is freshly compiled.... :)recovery_racer_deadlink.zip Edited September 23, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Racerboy: This is using KK's source (which is quite old I believe)....recovery_racer_kk.zip
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 ok results: deadlink recovery no go!!! cold boot cycle`s the green droid screen until i let go of the vol- button, rebooting into recovery from the desktop bypasses the recovery altogether and loads the phone normally. kk recovery no go either, identical results :(

Will rebuild recovery again using 4pda's cm7 kernel as the recovery kernel again to confirm.... brb... Edit: Here's the attached recovery using 4pda's kernel, post back here... ;)recovery_racer_4pda.zip Edited September 23, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 ok 4pda recovery cold boot does boot into recovery, same as before no hard key or virtual key responses only power button works to exit recovery and restart the phone rebooting from the desktop into recovery works, but now the < left arrow seems to the correct key config now (hard key call end does the same) although cant confirm this as i cant select anything, power button only restarts the phone now and the + virtual key still not working, hard key make call does nothing either..... so their is progress here :)

Just realized something.... you did say in original cwm, pressing the make call key is used to select a menu option right? In our cwm mod, it uses the home key, hence the virtual + key does nothing....
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 yes orginal cwm make call hard key is select but in your mod cwn no function for this hard key nor the home button
Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) yes orginal cwm make call hard key is select but in your mod cwn no function for this hard key nor the home button Right... need to figure the code for the hard key to 'make call'.... :) Then that should do it... I think.... only annoying thing is that it wont work from cold start.... B) P.S: What about the back key on the original cwm? what is used for that? Edited September 23, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) do you have that info from the logs we gave from evtest? by pressing power button once this goes back 1 level in sub menus Edited September 23, 2011 by Racerboy
Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 do you have that info from the logs we gave from evtest? by pressing power button once this goes back 1 level in sub menus Might need to run that again.... Am looking at post #21 of this thread and its not present.... Can you run the evtest against the /dev/input/event1 and press the end call key and the power key to get the codes, please?
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) power button did not return a value on event1 but end call did event2 had reaction with power button only when going to sleep or waking event3 reacted everytime i pressed the power button Edited September 23, 2011 by Racerboy

Oh! /dev/input/event3 is for the power button which is for .... going back up a level in the menu structure....? What about make call button? that's for going down a level in the menu...? Not the end call key is it? B) Edited September 23, 2011 by t0mm13b

Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Okie, :) Here is the latest and fixed version in that the + key (which should simulate the make call to select) and the left arrow key (which should simulate the pressing of the power key to go back) .... Let me know how that goes ;) Cheers, B)new_recovery.zip
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 ok, exactly the same results as last 4pda recovery, cold boot no hard key or virtual key functions apart from the power button to reboot/restart reboot from desktop into recovery works no change to virtual keys at all  apart from the virtual < arrow key now does nothing reference post #107

Now on to the virtual keys.... wtf.... Gosh, that racer handset is annoying..... lol So let me get this straight, the virtual left-arrow key worked okie previously...? As for the plus virtual key, does that do anything? :D
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 do you want me to test with evtest the virtual home, menu, back buttons to find there value ???
Guest Racerboy Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 "Gosh, that racer handset is annoying..... lol" an under statement  "So let me get this straight, the virtual left-arrow key worked okie previously...?" no it reacted with a flicker of the screen which probably indicate its function was back button (from sub menu`s) "As for the plus virtual key, does that do anything?" nope nor the home virtual either
Guest t0mm13b Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) To clarify and to prevent confusion, in nailing down this racer handset with this latest recovery using 4pda kernel: Icon with Plus on it - (for Select to go down a sub-level) - Work?Icon with Up arrow - (to move up the menu bar) Work?Icon with Down arrow - (to move down the menu bar) Work?Icon with Left Arrow - (to go back up a level) Work?Icon with Fingerprint and a minus sign through it (increase sensitivity) - Work?Icon with Fingerprint and a plus sign through it (decrease sensitivity) - Work?Icon with Fingerprint - (resets to default sensitivity) Work?
