Guest Phoenix Silver Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Files deleted from ZTE servers? Why? ????? files are there
Guest shezar Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) ????? files are there Nope, all of the links, including the .doc-s are 404's. And while the page says "Please download all 11 rar files and extract them, then extract them again." there are only 10 parts linked (zip, not rar anyways but for God's sake, they should be able to count to 10...), weird. Anyway, files are NOT there. Edited September 2, 2011 by shezar
Guest lol looool Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Thanks for mirroring, it's help to prevent this
Guest sej7278 Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 There are two sets of source code released ... http://support.zte.c...px?type=service ZTE SKATE Series - Gingerbread kernel(2.6.35) source code 9/2/2011 ZTE Atrial Series - Gingerbread kernel(2.6.35) source code 9/2/2011 Anybody notice the difference? The Atrial seems to be the French Skate. Do either of them compile for & boot on the Blade? same files dude, look at the links on each page, they point to the same zips.
Guest Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) I have successfully compiled the kernel for blade, and work fine in the official version of the leak. 1.for official version of the leak. 2.i just found the proximy sensor can't work http://www.mediafire...ou3q4sxa36o7f5x what is the official version Edited September 2, 2011 by Guest

Guest lol looool Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Zte Skate source code Mirror Mediafire Mirror
Guest shezar Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Same for me. They were there, I got the first 3 files, but now they're all 404s. "Source code is available only in limited quantities." Would this be the case? :D Anyways, let's hope they put back files which are more complete a little bit better quality.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 Hope they are replacing them with more complete branch lol
Guest wishmasterf Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 So we have the Source and one testing result. proximity sensor seems broken. There are some question: Is the bug easy fixable? will there be an integration in CM7 and other GB cROMs?

There are some question: Is the bug easy fixable? will there be an integration in CM7 and other GB cROMs? Proximity sensor works for me after I calibrated it using emode helper ... I never needed to calibrate my proximity sensor before though. ...using the version Geno.Kolar compiled, I split his boot.img combined his zImage with gsf ramdisk & I'm using it on gsf now, it seems to work so far.

PhenomHTX Posted Today, 08:27 PM performance it's worst then in LEAK version /// but it was not this type of integration (like wbaw) i think :) Edited September 2, 2011 by hlubepet
Guest CaptainSpectacular Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 A Monte Carlo Stir Fry with Dolby sound and blutooth working and all the good things of Gsf will be purely awesome imo :D

Guest wbaw Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Any other Test results? Are there any improvements you see? Is it possible to integrate in CM7? Many many questions.... No improvements that I noticed, it seems a little slower than the stock kernel, benchmark scores are a little lower. Everything seems to work for me, proximity sensor just needs calibrating once. It makes it possible to improve the kernel now. Things like ext4, cifs & overclocking could be added to it. I don't currently have any time to mess with it, I'm busy building a big website. Monte Carlo & GSF are dead, there wont be any more updates from me. It should be possible to integrate it into CM7, but it'll need compiling for vmsplit_3g to work in CM7, it'll also need the patches that they did to improve the old kernel adding to the new one (if possible), so you'll need a little patience while they get it working. The kernel has nothing to do with dolby sound or bluetooth, you guys are getting some wires crossed somewhere. Edited September 2, 2011 by wbaw

If you have, kindly share what you did - it would be massively ironical if you don't share and you've been giving the PR guy a hard time about GPL and software piracy on another thread?
Guest wbaw Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Are you saying you have it booting? If you have, kindly share what you did - it would be massively ironical if you don't share and you've been giving the PR guy a hard time about GPL and software piracy on another thread? I'm just testing out the version that Geno.Kolar compiled earlier, it works perfectly fine, he got it working, not me. I couldn't even download the complete source code, it just 404s. I'm not redistributing it in any form, the GPL doesn't force you to become a software distributor just because you used some GPL software. You only need to distribute source code if you distribute compiled executable copies or object code. If you read my posts then I've said exactly what I did, I just downloaded the version that Geno compiled, combined it with the gsf ramdisk & flashed it to my phone, if that's ok with you? If you can't get it to boot then you must be doing something wrong. I wasn't giving any PR guys a hard time either. The PR guy doesn't make phones with pirate GPL software on. He just happened to start that thread, none of my comments were directed at him personally. If you read what I actually wrote, I was just trying to help ZTE to sell more phones & avoid being shut down. Ho okie... Did not know Geno has a connection with this forum and the Blade community and that he fixed up the kernel for it to work on the blade? Was reliably told that he is a U8800 dev who kanged the CWM/CM7 sources.... Edited September 3, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest wbaw Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) Ho okie... in that case, owe him the credit for the GSF version that you flashed with your ramdisk, in accordance to GPL, mention that he's the contributor to the GSF version, and kindly direct the source of the kernel to his repo or whatever he has....and not you... if that's okie with you? BTW Did not know Geno has a blade? Thought he is a U8800 dev who kanged the CWM/CM7 sources.... What on earth are you talking about? I owe him credit because I flashed a file to my phone & it worked??? Haven't I just given him that credit? He isn't a contributor to any GSF version & I don't know if he even has a repo. I'd never heard of him before today. ZTE compiled the kernel in GSF. I just tried his version on my own phone to see if it worked & it does. You should try reading the GPL before you spout off about it. Edited September 2, 2011 by wbaw
