Most of my music and notifications sound distorted through the phone speaker (I have also tried with all the equalizer settings for music). If I play my music through the headset (the one that came with the phone) the sound is a bit better but stil distorted at 80% of volume (two settings down from the max). It's a bit frustrating as the default ROM has near perfect sound quality through the whole scale of volume settings.

Am I the only one having this problem?

That isn't possible while it's a beta rom, Trip mentioned that earlier. You can try to backup with Miui Backup (works for system settings and messages) and you can backup apps with something like Titanium backup. It should be possible to be up and running in 5 minutes again!

When the rom is stable and system files don't change so often anymore, flashing without wiping will be possible I guess.

You just go into cwr and do advance restore and restore data only probably need to flash gapps again I not sure haven't done it on Miui but have done it before on other roms

That didn't work tried it no go couldn't get gapps to work

That's why I never suggested the faux kernel, but Bricked.

It's not the kernel.

The faux kernel itself is great.

It's just this ROM doesn't "play well" with the faux kernel somehow, so to speak.

It's possible even with a beta version, I don't understand nor agree why it's not possible?

Change the content of the updater script so it won't wipe the data.

The rest (/system, /sd-ext, /dalvik-cache) just need to be wiped.

Too bad MIUI backup is flakey sometimes, but you can use nandroid too and/or Titanium, preferably only restore user data.

However, it's a good practice (read: prudent) to wipe everything just to be sure no error/bug from previous version carried over whenever you try a new build/version, even if it's the same ROM series.

i also am getting the market force closes, not when i open the market but when i try downloading an app, any idea on this trip? other then that everything seems to run amazingly well! :D

I had the same problem and i followed the advice given three pages ago. I downloaded the launcher.apk and replaced the one in system/app then went into recovery and fixed permissions. It was a little difficult getting a root file explorer without access to the market ( since it fc's) but I downloaded the Amazon android app store and found one there. This worked perfectly for me.

Before going through all the effort though, I'm curious what would happen if you just cleared data from your market app, then rebooted into recovery and fixed permissions... i wonder if that would fix everything without having to replace the market.

Interested to see how it turns out.

P.s. anyone confirm that Bluetooth audio is working? I use a Bluetooth stereo headset to listen to music at the gym everyday and really need this feature. I won't have my headset to try it out until tomorrow morning when i will already be at the gym and too late to flash a different Rom by then. P.p.s: I am still having issues where my phone is constantly switching back and forth from wifi to H when i spoke have a constant WiFi connection. My WiFi sleep is set to NEVER and it switches off and on over and over again ( did it twice while writing this)

This ROM also DoesNOT solve bootloop problem.

Flashing faux kernel looses network connectivity.

Flashed bricked kernel and got network working, but its quite old kernel and doesnot have bluetooth working.

No other working cm7 kernels available . Can anybody extract latest cm7 kernel from alpha 8 release?

TRIP r u working on bootloop issue[i believe this is tripnkernel issue] ?
